Chapter 22
The same thing happened to Howell, and he couldn’t accept it either. No matter how strong his love was, there would always be a day when it would be completely exhausted.
So today, how did he exactly feel that if he lightly apologized, she would turn back?
Fave felt extremely ironic.
Even if he hurt her so much for her, it would not be enough to compensate for the pain she had suffered in her heart and body!
“Brigham, rest assured, in the future, I will only have you in my life.”
Faye held Brigham tightly, as if comforting him, and also comforting
herself.
Brigham also hugged her back, “Okay, we will be together forever!”
The bodyguard cleared away the annoying decorations outside and restored everything to its original state.
Brigham took Faye home.
However, the next morning, when they woke up, Howell, who had already been sent away, appeared outside their villa.
Howell knelt in the rain, persistently waiting for Faye, refusing to leave no matter who tried to drive him away.
The wounds on his body were not treated, with a large area of green and purple, looking somewhat horrifying.
Chapter 27
“Faye, I’m sorry! I was wrong….
He said it over and over again, his voice became hoarse, but he still had no intention of stopping.
The heavy rain mercilessly washed over his body, the old wounds on hist legs throbbed faintly, and his face gradually turned pale, devoid of any color.
The body swayed several times, as if about to faint.
Faye, however, had no intention of feeling any sympathy. She simply watched this scene coldly, as if she was enjoying a play that had nothing to do with her.
“It’s ridiculous, even resorting to the trick of feigning pain. Did they really think I would feel sorry for them?”
His body was his own, even if he died, it had nothing to do with me.
Speaking. Faye slowly withdrew her gaze and leaned over to see what Brigham was cooking, even helping out.
The two of them got along well, occasionally playing and hugging, with bright smiles on their faces.
While eating, the two people fed each other, it was incredibly sweet.
Howell watched this scene and felt his heart being twisted like a knife, as if his whole heart was soaked in sour water.
They were really sweet.
This kind of interaction was something he and Faye had never experienced before.
He and Faye in the past were like friends, like superiors and subordinates, but they were not like lovers.
Howell had never been so acutely aware that, for Faye, Brigham and he were completely different.
She had really let go of him, and was even trying to fall in love with Brigham.
How could it be like this?
A piercing pain spread from the chest, quickly engulfing the whole body.
My legs felt as if countless pairs of hands were pounding on them with force, causing excruciating pain that almost suffocated me.
But he refused to get up and he refused to give up.
Maybe if Faye saw it, there would have been a moment of heartache.
However, Howell’s expectations ultimately fell through.
Faye did not appear in front of him until he completely passed out.
She nestled in Brigham’s arms, and the two of them drew closer and closer, naturally exchanging a kiss.
When Howell woke up again, he was lying in a hospital in New York, with a lifeless look in his eyes.
From beginning to end, Faye did not feel a trace of heartache.
The piercing pain in my leg came in waves, making it especially difficult
to move.
In a daze, Howell felt as if he had been transported back to five years ago, to that desperate time.
It was just different, back then he had nothing left, only Faye by his side.
And now, he had everything, except for Faye.
The physical pain on the body was far less intense compared to the pain
in the heart.
Howell closed his eyes in despair, silently grieving.
Stanley pushed the door open and, seeing him like this, shook his head. and let out a deep sigh.
“Why bother seeking forgiveness from Faye now when you had countless opportunities to cut your losses carlier? You ignored my advice every time. If only you had known, why bother in the first place?”
“You knew it yourself, didn’t you? She wouldn’t like you anymore, and continuing to pester her would only make her disgusted.”
