Chapter 5
The man looked at Faye with suspicion, and Howell seized the
opportunity to continue. “If you want to kidnap Alianna, go ahead. Faye and I are going to pick wedding dresses tomorrow. We don’t have time to waste here.”
After saying that, he even extended his hand to Faye, his tone gentle, “Faye, let’s go.”
Faye felt a coldness all over her body.
She finally understood.
Howell was using her as a shield to divert the kidnapper’s attention and let Alianna go!
As expected, the man hesitated. Then, he suddenly shoved Alianna aside and charged towards Faye.
“You are the one he loves most!” he snarled, grinning hideously as he grabbed Faye’s hair and dragged her towards the edge of the bridge.
Howell’s pupils constricted, and he lunged forward, but the first thing he did was grab Alianna.
“Alia…”
Meanwhile, Faye fell directly off the bridge!
The howling wind roared in her ears, and as the cold river water surged over her head, she vaguely heard Howell’s cold voice from the bridge above.
‘Save the kidnapper first. Don’t let him get away.
B
“Send him to jail so that he won’t cause more harm.
“Don’t let him hurt Alia again!”
Faye wanted to laugh, but as the water filled her lungs, the pain made her vision blackout.
Before losing consciousness, she finally understood.
In Howell’s heart, her life was worth less than that of a kidnapper!
When Faye woke up in the hospital, she heard the doctor’s serious voice.
“Ms. Atkinson, your body has been in poor condition for these years. Drinking, exhaustion, and the old injuries left by the experimental drugs. Plus, you just fell from the bridge. These have severely affected your health. You must take good care of yourself in the future, or…”
Before the doctor could finish, Howell noticed she was awake and hurried to her side, his voice rare with concern. “Faye, you’re awake? How are you? Still hurts?”
Faye looked at him, her eyes calm.
If he truly cared about her, why would he choose to save the kidnapper first?
Seeing her silent, Howell reached out to touch her face, but she turned her head to avoid him.
He paused; his voice was low. “It was my oversight. I will make it up to you.”
Faye forced a smile but said nothing.
“Howell, you’ve owed me too much,” thought Faye.
It was impossible to repay.

Faye replied faintly. “We haven’t got married yet, right?”
Howell caressed her face, his tone firm and possessive. “We’ll get married. sooner or later.
“Who else do you want to marry, if not me?”
He stared into her eyes and said, “Anyway, in this life, I will only marry you.”
Faye looked at him and suddenly smiled.
How ironic!
He didn’t love her, yet he dared to swear that he would marry no one but her.

After the auction began. Howell bought almost everything that Faye had her eye on, spending money lavishly without hesitation.
Alianna sat not far away, glaring at them with a resentful look in her eyes.
When Faye went to the restroom, Alianna followed her in.
She locked the door behind her and sneered. “Faye, you must be quite. proud today. huh?
“Do you want me to remind you? Howell only feels guilty toward you. It’s
not love.
“You probably don’t know this, do you? When you 3–month pregnant. I cried, saying I couldn’t stand seeing another woman carry his child, so he gave you abortion pills without saying a word. Not long ago, when I had kidney failure, he didn’t hesitate to give you one of your kidneys to save
- me.
“And what happened on the bridge… He pretended to hate me, but it was all to push you into danger.
“No matter where, no matter when, if I need something, he will fulfill all my wishes.” Alianna leaned in close to her, her voice sweet as honey “Faye, you’ve lost completely!”
Alianna thought that after saying all this, she would immediately see Faye driven crazy
That would be very satisfying.
But unexpectedly, Faye remained calm throughout.
She turned off the faucet, looked up at her, and asked, “Is that all?”
Alianna froze.
Fave dried her hands and said in a calm tone. “I don’t care.”
After all, she was
o soon.
Alianna stared at her in disbelief, “How can you not care? Faye, you…”
Just as she was about to ask, her expression suddenly changed. She raised her hand and slapped herself hard across the face!
Slap!
The sharp sound of the slap echoed in the restroom.
Faye didn’t have time to react when, the next second, Howell rushed over and shoved her aside, shouting, “Faye! What are you doing?!”
Faye staggered backward, her lower back crashing hard into the corner of a decorative table. The pain made her vision blur, and blood trickled down her forehead.
But Howell didn’t even glance at her. He immediately helped Alianna up and said coldly, “Didn’t I already compensate you? Why are you still bullying Alia?”
Alianna covered her face, tears streaming down. “Howell, don’t blame Faye, it’s all my fault…”
Howell’s face darkened. He picked Alianna up in his arms and turned to leave.
Alianna leaned into his embrace, looking back at Faye with a victorious. smile.
Faye was left alone, leaning against the restroom wall. She smiled,
