Chapter 23
Anna looked at him in silence.
And her silence, to him, was already the cruelest answer.
Elijah’s body trembled slightly as he pressed close to Anna, his lips. fiercely biting hers.
Anna felt a sharp pain and almost instantly tasted the metallic flavor of blood.
In my ears was Elijah’s extremely hoarse voice.
“Anna, I really wanted to kill you, and then die with you. After death, we will be buried in the same grave, you will always, always be mine, whether you love me or hate me, death can only be mine.”
“But… I can’t… I have already made a mistake once, I can’t afford to make
another one.”
“Losing you, I felt like I was dying. But I couldn’t control myself. If I were alive, I couldn’t bear to see you with someone else. I couldn’t control myself, I wanted to be close to you.”
“Maybe you were right, you shouldn’t have saved me back then, at least. you wouldn’t have to suffer these injuries.”
“But I am still grateful, grateful that you saved me, grateful that you loved me once.”
“Let me be selfish one last time, okay? That way, at least you will never forget me in your lifetime.”
Chapter 21
He said, then suddenly lowered his head and once again pressed his lips. against Anna’s, gently kissing her.
There was reluctance, there was nostalgia, and there were tears of bitterness that spread and grew.
The next moment, Anna’s hand was filled with something icy, cold, and
hard.
She hadn’t reacted yet when she felt Elijah grab her hand tightly, and then he let out a painful grunt.
His body stiffened for a moment, then fell down.
Anna instinctively reached out to grab him, but missed. He fell directly to the ground, with a dagger stuck in his chest.
The scene fell silent for a moment.
Anna’s legs gave way and she fell to her knees beside him.
Elijah grabbed her hand and stared at her intensely.
As soon as he opened his mouth, blood gushed out.
Her lips moved slightly, but Anna still heard his words clearly: “I love you, Anna…”
Elijah’s face showed a mixture of relief and a hint of reluctance as he looked at her, gradually losing his breath.
Anna tightly grabbed his hand and cried out, “Elijah… Elijah!”
He gradually stopped breathing like that.
Anna lay on his chest, wailing loudly, unsure whether to be sad about his

death or to be grateful that this life finally found relief.
However, she was surrounded by endless pain, her heart full of confusion.
Until a small figure ran over and darted into her arms, tightly hugging her neck: “Mom! Mom!”
“I was there, mom was there.”
Anna came to her senses and carefully held Laetitia in her arms.
Like a kite floating in the air, it was once again pulled back by a string, and once again felt a sense of belonging to this world.
She personally handled Elijah’s funeral.
Elijah had offended the Tremblay family greatly, and they did not allow him to be buried in the Tremblay grave.
Anna simply buried him in the cemetery near her house.
As he decisively walked away, all the love and hatred from the past. seemed to fade in an instant, turning black and white, becoming blurred
in memory.
Kendall was injured by Elijah’s bodyguard, breaking two bones, and had to stay in the hospital for half a month before being discharged.
Anna took care of him personally.
On the day she was discharged from the hospital, Kendall held her hand and said, “You promised that if I could come back well, you would be with me. Is that still true?”
Anna grabbed his hand and chuckled, “Yes.”
