Chapter 15 Get Savannah Back
All the people present were shocked by Terrence’s announcement. Because of his mom, he had been estranged from the Harrington family. and stayed abroad for years.
Everyone knew he resented Daniel and loathed the Harrington family. Normally, he wouldn’t even set foot in here.
He was an illegitimate child, and the Harrington family despised him and was worried he might come back someday to fight for inheritance, so they seldom brought him up.
Therefore, they were all dumbfounded that he demanded to take over the family this time he came back.
Victor pulled a long face and snapped, “You’ll be in charge? Who are you again? You don’t get to call the shots here.”
Terrence said, “That’s not for you to say. From this day on, I’ll live here.”
With that, he turned to Daniel. “Dad, what do you say?”
I had always thought Daniel was ashamed of Terrence because of Terrence’s identity as an illegitimate child, but after Terrence addressed him as “Dad“, I obviously saw Daniel’s eyes turning red.
That wasn’t the reaction of a father who didn’t love his child.
“Theodore, get a room ready for Terrence.” Daniel waved his hand, and Theodore Walsh immediately went on with it, afraid Terrence might have a change of heart.
Obviously, Victor was displeased. He said, “Dad, this isn’t appropriate…”
“Shut up! Terrence is your brother. How is this not appropriate? He made his name abroad without my help. And what did this brat do?”
As Daniel’s gaze fell on Kaleb, he flew into a rage again. “By the way, I saw the comments online. Kaleb, are you OK with your wife being called a liar? Have you seen those harsh words they hurled at Vannah?”
“Grandpa, Savannah is getting out of the line. She went to Lexingham without telling me, and I wanted to teach her a lesson for being so willful,” Kaleb said.
“Willful? How dare you say that? You left her alone at the wedding, or why would she go to Lexingham? It seems you have forgotten something. Back then, our family’s funds were cut off, and she begged her grandfather for help. Or we would have been bankrupt already!”
Daniel lashed Kaleb a few more times. “You ingrate! I gotta make sure you remember today!”
“Dad, stop! You want Kaleb to go to Lexingham to get Vannah back, right? If you continue to whip him, he won’t even be able to move around.
“Besides, Vannah loves him so much. She’ll be devastated if she sees how badly he’s injured,” Victor said hastily.
Only then did Daniel toss the whip aside. “Brat, get Vannah back! Now!”
With that, he turned to leave with Terrence, not wanting to shoot a glance at Kaleb.
He said to Terrence, “You’ve been doing great abroad. If you want, coming back won’t be a bad option.”
Terrence said flatly, “Yeah.”
Only a few people were left in the living room. Tracy helped Alena up at once. checking if Alena was hurt.
Kaleb kept his head lowered, pulling a long face. No one knew what he was thinking.
Victor went to help him up. At the sight of his back, which was already a bloody mess. Victor said with distress in his eyes, “Theodore, get the family doctor here.”
“Alright.” Theodore nodded.
After Kaleb’s back was applied ointment, he lay prone on the bed, while I paced back and forth, utterly anxious.
The men weren’t satisfied that I was dead; they were about to skin me. What were they gonna do next? Dismember me?
I didn’t know if this was the reason I couldn’t disappear. Right now, I just wanted someone to find my body so that I could rest in peace.
Kaleb, how much longer would it take before you knew I was dead?
Victor sat by the bed, nagging, “Vannah is a good girl. She’s been loving you all these years. Besides, you’re married to her now. Whatever feeling you have for Ally, you should stay away from her. Vannah is your wife…”
Suddenly, Kaleb looked up at him, “Dad! What are you thinking? Ally is my sister, OK?”
Victor obviously didn’t buy it. “Ask yourself. Have you ever cared about Vannah these years? Whenever Ally calls, you always rush over to her immediately. You left Vannah alone at the wedding for Ally’s sake!”
“That’s because Ally is in poor health. Her life is always at risk,” Kaleb retorted.

“You know her condition better than anyone. Even if she does have an attack, she could die within seconds. There’s no way you could make it in time. Besides, this isn’t the first time she claimed she had an attack, right? Has her life ever actually been in danger? Her tricks are so lame, yet you keep falling for them. You’ve left Vannah behind again and again because you care about Ally more than anyone.”
Kaleb had no idea he had long given himself away.
“So, you all think I treat Ally better than Savannah?”
“Don’t you?”
Victor didn’t want to argue with him. “Vannah and you are childhood. sweethearts, and you’ve been together for years. I get it that you might get bored and want something different. But you’re married, and you must have boundaries. I suggest you have a kid with her soon; that will make up for it.”
Patting his shoulder, Victor continued, “Get Vannah back from Lexingham as soon as you can. A happy family is the foundation of everything. Besides, you heard Terrence when he said he was back for the family property. You know how much Daniel favors him, right? If you provoke Daniel at this critical point, it’ll be no different from handing the family over to Terrence. Think about it.”
Victor’s words struck a chord. Kaleb immediately called his assistant.
“Book me a flight to Lexingham for tomorrow morning.”
“Alright, Mr. Harrington.”
He added, “And make all the trending topics related to Savannah go away.”

His assistant said. “I see. And Ms. Alena’s, too, right?”
How come everyone knew how important Alena was to him? Irritated, Kaleb roared, “Do you think Alena’s reputation is more important than Savannah’s?”
“No. I just…” His assistant was terrified. After all, whenever it concerned. both Alena and Savannah, Kaleb always favored the former.
“If you make such a stupid mistake again, hand in your resignation. yourself.”
Kaleb hung up.
He was lost in thoughts, wondering if he was really that mean to me.
Then he called me again; my phone was still switched off.
The guilt in his eyes immediately vanished as he cursed under his breath, “How spoiled. Ally is so much better than her.”
If it were before, hearing him say so would have broken my heart. But after everything that had happened, I was already numb.
Right now, all I wanted was for him to go to Lexingham as soon as possible and find out I was already dead.
Kaleb’s phone rang, and it was his assistant, who was more cautious this time. “Mr. Harrington, your trip to Lexingham is all set. But someone has already taken down the trending topics related to Mrs. Harrington.”
“Who?”
“I asked around, and they said it was someone from the Harrington family. The person paid 8 million dollars for all the
trending topics to vanish completely in such a short time. Apparently, only Sir Harrington
