Chapter 8
After hearing what I said, Antonio smiled, grabbing my hand.
Then he put a ten–carat diamond ring on my ring finger.
It was bigger than the one my stepbrothers gave Amanda.
It sparkled under the light, showcasing the Kaufman family’s top–notch
status.
My stepbrothers looked bitter, clearly stung by its brilliance.
Furious, Samson said, “Grace, are you gonna walk away from us for the Kaufman family’s influence? We lived together for twenty years! I never knew you were a snob!”
I couldn’t help but laugh.
I never wanted money or fame; I just wanted to be treated with sincerity.
But what did I get?
Maurice slapped me mercilessly, Brooke ridiculed me harshly, and Samson almost broke my leg.
They didn’t have a clue that their family was on the verge of collapsing.
They didn’t know the Kaulinan family had already repaid all the money the Miller family had spent on me, and even much more.
They had no idea I no longer owed them anything
Ever since Amanda showed up, she had gained all their attention
to w
They still thought I was that orphan with no one to lean on.
With Antonio here, I had nothing to worry about.
I waved my hand, and he ordered the bodyguards to drag the three away.
Samson struggled.
In terms of physical strength, I was no match for him at all; but when facing those beefy bodyguards, he was as vulnerable as me.
Seeing that he couldn’t break free, he snapped, “Grace! I don’t believe you could be this merciless!
“I bet you still love me.
“Antonio, you’re the heir of the Kaufman family, yet you marry a slut we dumped! Believe it or not, you two won’t end well!”
Maurice and Brooke were relatively calm.
Brooke kept staring at me with an obscure gaze the whole time, remaining
silent.
When being dragged away, Maurice said, “You’ll regret this, Grace.”
After they were out, finally, everything was quiet again.
Suddenly, Antonio turned to look at me.
He asked, “Will you regret it, Grace? If so, we can postpone the wedding.”
I looked at him, not answering immediately.
He held a high position, and unlike Valerie, he didn’t seem like an
easygoing person. Instead, he exuded an imposing aura.
My stepbrothers were spoiled trust fund kids, who were selfish and hypocritical.
On the contrary, Antonio was the stand–up guy whose success was built on his own effort.
No wonder my bestie kept urging me to marry him.
I reached out, stroked his eyes, and stood on tiptoe to kiss his lips.
Then I said, “No. I never regret anything, including my decisions.
“Antonio, I don’t know why you wanna marry me, but I do know I wanna marry you. Will you marry me?”
He said nothing while staring at me, his gaze deep.
Then, after a long time, he smiled, “Yes.”
He cuddled me and kissed me back.
True love didn’t need twenty years to happen.
Those who were in love could embrace a happy life together forever.
We just needed the right one to show up; then everything, including falling in love and getting married, would happen naturally. There was no need to wait for anything.
Regarding the matter of the wedding dress shop, the Kaufinan family originally wanted to hold the Miller family responsible.
I considered Maria and stopped her
Just keep a close watch on Maurice, Samson, and Brooke, never allowing them to appear in front of me again.
My life returned to normal, and the wedding preparations proceeded as planned.
What I didn’t expect was.
No matter how many times you count, you can’t miss Amanda.
I don’t know how she found me, but on the way home after Antonio and I finished taking our wedding photos, she suddenly rushed out and knelt in front of me.
“Ms. Parrish, I was wrong, please forgive me. I shouldn’t have foolishly argued with you, and I shouldn’t have ruined your relationship with the three young masters…”
In Amanda’s sobbing, I roughly gathered some information.
After I left, Maurice, Samson, and Brooke suddenly became obsessed with me.
Amanda was not as great as before.
Maria accidentally found out that she had once bullied me.
In a fit of anger, he snatched Yao’s business.
Originally, Maurice, Samson, and Brooke, who were always supportive of Amanda, did not speak up for her.
Regardless of the Yao family’s bankruptcy, Amanda was at her wit’s end.
“Please, help me say something nice, now only your words can get through to them.”
I do to
Amanda knelt in front of me, attempting to embrace my thighs.
Before I had a chance to touch my clothes, I was dragged away by the bodyguard.
Antonio remained silent throughout…
Looking at her eyes, it seemed like she was looking at a piece of garbage.
He pulled my hand and said, “Let’s go home.”
“Okay.”
For me, everything related to Maurice, Samson, and Brooke was not worth my trouble.
But after a few steps, I suddenly felt a wave of dizziness.
With his eyes turning black, he fell into Antonio’s arms.
