Step–Sister Insists on Marrying My
CEO Husband
Chapter 1
I came home for Christmas, and my
stepsister, fresh off a failed business venture,
started her sob story at the dinner table.
Her eyes darted around before landing on my
husband. “Isn’t your husband, Mark, in the
entertainment business? Mom said with my
looks, I’d be a star in Hollywood. Maybe even
the next Oscar winner.”
“Ashley, it’s just your word that gets people
roles in your company, right? We’re so close,
and when I’m famous, I won’t forget you
guys!”
く
Listening to her shameless bragging, I quietly
gripped my chopsticks.
In my past life, I fell for her lies, gave my
stepmom face, and got her into the industry.
It ended terribly for me.
This time, I lifted my chin and said, “She’s
lying to you, sis. With your looks, you’d be
lucky to land a bit part, let alone an Oscar,
even after sleeping with a hundred
producers.”

As soon as I said that, Susan, my stepmom,
who was diligently serving food, slammed her
bowl down.

She sat on the floor and started wailing.
“John, look at the daughter you raised!
Chloe’s her sister, she just wants a shot in
Hollywood. Her husband runs a big agency,
he should be helping family!”
She glared at me. “You weren’t raised here,
so you have no heart for your father, do you?”
As soon as Dad saw her crying, he frowned
and yelled, “Ashley, just let your sister join the
agency! Susan has taken care of me for
years, she’s been so good to you, can’t you
just be considerate?”
Susan being good to me?
I scoffed at her, staring until her crying turned
into a full–blown tantrum.

Susan was the woman my dad had an affair
with when he was almost fifty. They started
cuddling during their line dancing classes,
which sent my mom, already in the ICU, into
an early grave.
As soon as Mom died, Susan and Chloe, her
daughter from her previous marriage, moved
into our house.
She took my mom’s room, and Chloe took
mine.
Luckily, Mark and I were already engaged, so
I packed my bags and moved into his place,
never looking back.
It was too disgusting.
Seeing the scene. Chloe sniffled “Ashley I
Seeing the scene, Chloe sniffled, “Ashley, I
know you resent me for ‘stealing‘ Dad. But I want a chance to make it up to you. When I
join the agency, I can live at your place, and
we can really bond as sisters.”
The nosy relatives started chiming in.
“Family is the most important thing, Ashley.
You’re grown up now, it’s time to let go of
the past. You have a great opportunity to
reconcile with your stepmom and sister, you
should be grateful!”
My blood boiled.
In my past life, I’d listened to this nonsense,
thinking I could bury the hatchet with Susan
and maintain a superficial peace, so I agreed to let Chloe join the agency.
The minute she joined, she used my name to
bully newcomers and steal resources from
established actresses. If anyone slightly
displeased her, she’d force my husband to
fire them.
I was pregnant at the time and wasn’t
involved in the agency’s affairs.
By the time I heard about it, she’d already
colluded with competitors, bankrupting the
company and committing corporate fraud.
As the legal representative, I was sentenced
to life in prison and died there.
