Chapter)
He saw me, stormed over, and grabbed my neck tightly,
He growled, “Elsa, how’s my baby? What did you do with my baby?”
I spent the night at the funeral home with my dad.
Dominik came back and found that I wasn’t at home. He finally realized something was off.
He searched everywhere for me, but I had no friends or family, so he was clueless.
I spent the entire night at the funeral home with my phone switched off. Dominik tried calling me over and over, but it was pointless.
In the early morning, he spotted blood–stained pads in the trash can when he went to the bathroom.
After the abortion, I was still bleeding, but Dominik hadn’t noticed.
We’d been sleeping in separate rooms since that night, so he wouldn’t. have been in my bathroom.
Dominik had waited in my bedroom all night, and it was when he went to wash up that he found the blood–stained pads,
He immediately asked Donna about my health.
Donna was clueless about my abortion. I had taken care of the trash myself, and all Donna knew was that I had been feeling weak lately, mostly staying in bed and visiting my dad.
Hearing Donna’s words, Dominik felt uneasy and immediately searched our bedroom.
He found the medicine the doctor had given me on the nightstand.
1000
Dupter
Dominik grabbed the medicine and rushed to the doctor. The doctor told him I hadn’t been in for a checkup in three weeks.
Seeing Dominik with the medicine, the doctor looked somber and explained to him.
This was medicine to stop bleeding and reduce inflammation, typically prescribed to women who had just had an abortion.
Dominik flared up. He stared at me with bloodshot eyes, demanding to
know the truth. “Elsa, how’s my baby? Tell me! What’s going on with our baby?”
Chapter
Chapter 8
This was hilarious!
He still remembered our baby?
I always thought he only cared about the one with Aliana
Dominik’s attitude caught me off guard. Could he actually expect my baby?
How could it be possible?
If he had even a tiny bit of expectation for this baby, he wouldn’t have treated me like dirt when I was pregnant.
My neck still hurt from his grip, and even when I tried to pull away, he just held on tighter.
I was gasping for air. I felt like Dominik was going to strangle me.
It was just a baby he didn’t even want. Why would it be worth my life?
Wasn’t I doing this to clear the way for him and Aliana?
I didn’t want to die, so I fought back, trying to get his hand off me.
Dominik’s hands were bloody. He still glared at me, not willing to let go.
It was Donna who finally stepped in, pulling his hands off me, and I was led to sit on the couch.
Dominik was still demanding answers. “What happened to the baby? Tell me. What happened to the baby?”
Chapter
He shook my arm, finally noticing the black cloth on my wrist.
“What’s this for? Who died? Who are you mourning?” asked Dominik.
I said calmly, “My dad passed away.”
“What?” Dominik dropped my arm and stepped back.
He looked at me in disbelief. “When did this happen? Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Why did I tell you? Who are you to me?” My voice was gruff, and not easy on the ears.
Dominik didn’t blow up. Instead, he softened his tone. “Elsa, I’m your husband! I’m here to help with your dad’s funeral.”
“No need. I’ve dealt with it myself. My dad is already at peace.”
He stared at me, stunned. He probably didn’t expect me to handle the funeral without telling him.
I hadn’t slept all night. With the strain of the abortion, my face was deathly pale.
Dominik must have noticed this too.
He didn’t push me about the baby anymore. “Rest first. We’ll talk when you’re ready.”
I nodded and headed upstairs. I really needed to rest. I was totally exhausted.
Lying in bed, I soon fell into slumber even without a dream.
This sleep felt endless. I finally woke up around six in the evening.
Chapter B
My phone was buzzing next to me, so I grabbed it to check.
It was Aliana. She sent a message, “Elsa, you’re really something. You knew how to use your dad’s death to trap Dominik, huh? He’s dead. How long do you think Dominik will care about him? You’re about to be alone
soon!”
I replied, “Why? My dad was your uncle! Why are you being so cruel?”
Aliana texted, “Uncle? I don’t think so! If it weren’t for your dad, you wouldn’t have been engaged to Dominik so quickly. I’d never have ended up like this!”
“Elsa, your dad was a piece of trash, and so are you. Your whole family is the same. That’s why you’re getting punished. Your mom is dead, your dad is a vegetable, and you’ll be done for!”
I read Aliana’s messages, feeling the intense hatred coming from her.
Why? I had already given in. Why was she still pushing me?
Aliana didn’t take me seriously at all. She sent another message, “All these years, have you ever wondered why your parents had an accident? You didn’t believe it was an accident, right?”
I texted, “What are you saying?”
Aliana repli ed, “I meant it quite literally. If you don’t want to die, you’d better leave Dominik now!”
