Chapter 2 I Am Your Biological Daughter
By then, Sabrina had already given up hope on family ties, so she never considered seeking out Theodore.
But now, she was still a minor and needed a guardian.
Fridman Group had strict security, and without an

appointment, access was impossible. Sabrina knew this all too well, so she chose to wait outside.
As night fell, the guards tried to shoo her away a few times.
However, they eventually left her alone, seeing her just sitting there quietly.
In a daze, Sabrina stared blankly at the passersby.
Suddenly, a piercing scream shattered her train of thoughts, followed by a heavy thud.
“Mr. Fridman, I made a mistake! Please spare me! I was forced. into this. If I don’t hand over the project documents, they’ll kill my son!”
A middle–aged man was pleading and crying, kneeling on the ground.

“What are you talking about, Mr. Roberts? When have I ever put you in a bind?”
Before him stood Theodore, sporting a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
“Mr. Fridman, I was so wrong. I’ll do whatever it takes to set things straight. I’d even kill myself if that’s the only way out. Please leave my family alone,” Eric Roberts pleaded.
Yet, Theodore remained as cold as ice, showing not an ounce of
mercy.
“Then die,” he sneered, looking down at Eric like he was a bug under his shoe.
“When you double–crossed me, you should’ve thought about the consequence.”
Eric’s heart plummeted at those words.
In a fit of desperation, he roared, “Theodore, you’re an animal! You’re gonna pay
what you did. Your kids will go to hell
because of you!”
“I won’t be having any kids,” Theodore retorted, waving his hand nonchalantly.
“He’s hurting my cars. Just get him out of here,” he commanded.
Without hesitation, the bodyguards grabbed Eric and chucked

him out.
Sabrina couldn’t help but shudder.

She’d seen Theodore’s sharp–featured face countless times. before in the financial news. He was more handsome than any A–lister she’d ever laid eyes on.
Even at 37, Theodore didn’t age at all.
Sabrina’s eyes were fixed on his towering, imposing figure. Summoning up her nerve, she took a step forward and trailed. after him.
“Theodore,” she called out, her voice sweet and girlish.
Despite her plain attire, her beauty was a real show–stopper.
Even though Theodore had been around the block and met his fair share of stunners, Sabrina’s face gave him a momentary pause–one look and she was etched in his memory.
But good looks weren’t going to change his deep–seated dislike of kids.
Theodore furrowed his brow slightly, his voice cold. “Kid, you talking to me?”
Sabrina looked him straight in the eye and calmly introduced herself. “I’m Sabrina, your biological daughter.”
At the mention of those last two words, Theodore’s face went as

gloomy as a thundercloud, a glint of hostility flashing in his eyes.
Another gold–digger trying to take advantage of me..
With that in mind, he shot back a bit impatiently, “I’m not even married. You can’t be my daughter.”
Sabrina kept her cool and went on, “I’m not lying. I really am your daughter. Take me for a DNA test if you don’t believe me.”
As Theodore sized up the girl in front of him, he was lost in thought for a moment.
Those eyes… They ring a bell, like I’ve seen them before.
But he quickly pulled himself together. His captivating eyes narrowed slightly, and his demeanor turned icier than a freezer. “Who put you up to this?”
The steely glint in his eyes felt like a dagger stabbing into Sabrina’s heart, snuffing out the faint spark of hope within her.
She replied evenly, “No one. I’m only telling is the truth.”
Seeing that he was still as stone–faced as ever, Sabrina quickly added, “And I can make my own bread, so you won’t have to shell out for me.”
She wouldn’t be that stupid, counting on Theodore to be Mr. Nice Guy to her. For her, he was just the golden ticket to get away from the Sterling family.

Taking a deep breath, Sabrina switched to a more bargaining
tone.
“Fridman Group’s smart medical robot project has been in the works for five years, and they’re still running in circles.“,
At this, Theodore’s demeanor finally changed a little.
The smart medical robot was a top–secret project at Fridman Group, totally off the public radar. What was more, all their efforts so far had been a wild goose chase.
Only the bigwigs in the company would knew about such details..
He started to realize that the girl in front of him was no ordinary
Jane.
“How do you know about that?” he asked, his curiosity piqued.
Sabrina skipped the fact that she’d guessed it.
It wasn’t that hard, actually. After all, she had made a name for herself in the business world in her past life.
Noticing a hint of softening in his expression, she continued, “I have the patent for that project. It’s exactly what you need. I can sell it to Fridman Group.”
A flicker of surprise crossed Theodore’s face, but he quickly regarded the girl before him with newfound skepticism.
She’s just a child. What could she possibly know? Maybe she

Chuckling to himself, he thought about how close he had come to being taken in by her.
“Just focus on your study, kid. Stay out of my business. My time. is valuable.”
At that moment, it dawned on Sabrina that he simply didn’t believe her.
Silence hung between them for a while..
Then, a sudden spark of determination ignited within her.
“You don’t believe me? Fine. But the Fridman family might feel differently.”
“Threatening me already, huh?” Theodore snorted.
In his thirty–odd years, Sabrina was the only one that was ballsy enough to threaten him.
Theodore knew his dad, Gabriel Fridman, all too well–profit was his top priority. That smart medical robot project was at the top of his list.
Regardless of any blood ties, just based on this project alone, his father would likely keep her around.
Clearly, she came here already informed about the Fridman family’s affairs.

Chapter 2 I Am Your Biological Daughter Theodore gazed at Sabrina, finding her smarter than he thought.
His assistant, Julian Phillips, held his breath nearby.
He was blown away.
Never in his life had he seen someone threatening Theodore like
that.
Julian hoped that his boss would cut Sabrina some slack for the bigger picture.
“So what if I do threaten you?” Sabrina didn’t flinch.
She understood that sometimes, one had to do whatever they could to survive.
Her clear and earnest eyes bore into Theodore’s, sending an unexpected pang through his heart. It was a feeling that stuck to him like a bad smell, and it seriously got under his skin.
For weeks, he’d been plagued by a dull ache in his chest. But after he had countless trips to the hospital, the doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with him.
Impatience seeped into his voice when he warned, “You got any idea what happens to people who mess with me? Stay out of my way if you don’t wanna die.”
He let out a scoff, thinking it was a waste of breath to argue with a kid.
Chapter 2 I Am Your Biological Daughter Just then, the rain started to pour.

Sabrina stood there in the downpour, acutely aware of her own helplessness as she looked at the man under the umbrella.
She knew that at this moment, she was as good as nothing. If Theodore wanted her gone, it’d be a piece of cake.
“Theodore, it’s a crime to ditch your own child!” Sabrina yelled in frustration.
Seeing that Theodore had no plans to take her back, she spun around and stepped into the heavy rain.
After she faced so many allegations that day and was only rejected, her strength waned.
As the frail figure of Sabrina began to fade into the storm, Theodore felt that familiar pain in his chest return, sharper than ever.
The desperate eyes of the girl in his dreams merged with the resolute gaze of the girl before him.
Meanwhile, Julian glanced at the girl’s receding figure with a bit of concern. “Mr. Fridman, are you really letting her walk away like that?”
Theodore fought through the pain with a frown. “What else am I supposed to do?”

“It’s late. Who knows what could happen to her out there?” Julian muttered.

“Fine, just follow her.” Theodore waved a hand dismissively, the nagging ache still haunting him.
After leaving, Sabrina went to a convenience store.
She sat there, watching the hustle and bustle outside, her mind drifting away.
Suddenly, a voice pulled her back to reality. “Young lady, Mr. Fridman would like to see you.”
Sabrina recognized Julian in an instant.
She couldn’t help but wonder, So, he really does want to pick me up? Is he scared of going to jail?
Later on, she followed Julian to the sleek black Rolls–Royce Phantom waiting at the entrance.
Theodore sat beside her, rubbing his forehead. He didn’t look well.
Sabrina quickly looked away.
Noticing her probing gaze, Theodore turned to face her.
Instead of her usual stubborn expression, it was the black hearing aid that immediately caught his eye.

His eyes darkened, and a sudden sharp pain stabbed at his chest.
Before he could collect his thoughts, Theodore blurted out, “What’s with the hearing aid?”

“Lost my hearing in this car,” Sabrina replied, a bit startled. Then she casually shrugged it off.
Well, whether she was genuinely unfazed by it was anyone’s
guess.
Theodore pressed his lips into a thin line and fell silent.
The car was deathly quiet.
After a while, Sabrina broke the ice. “I’m not lying. Let’s go take a paternity test.”
“Alright,” Theodore didn’t turn her down this time.
And so, they made their way to a hospital under Fridman Group for the test.
Two hours later, the results came back, confirming they were indeed father and daughter.
