In the conference room of Fridman Group, an air of tension hung heavy.
All the senior executives sal in silence, their eyes glued to

Theodore, who was reviewing a project proposal at the head of the table. No one dared to breathe too loudly, fearing they might be the first to catch his wrath, wishing they could shrink beneath the table.
Meetings were always excruciating for them.
After what felt like an eternity, Theodore finally spoke, “Not bad.”
At those words, sweat began to bead on the foreheads of the department heads.
One executive whispered, “Am I dreaming? Did Mr. Theodore Fridman actually say that?
“Did he really just say it was ‘not bad‘?”
“Just play it safe. Have you heard of the tactic ‘raise hopes before the fall‘? Brace yourself; we’re going to get torn apart over this proposal,” another chimed in, wiping sweat from his brow, feeling increasingly uneasy.
Unaware of the turmoil brewing among his subordinates,

Theodore glanced around the room and lowered his voice. “Aren’t you all leaving yet?
“The proposals have all been approved. Meeting dismissed.”
With that, he packed up his laptop and strode out of the conference room, leaving a group of disoriented executives. staring at each other in disbelief.
“Oh my God, I can’t be dreaming right now, can I?”

“That… that was Mr. Theodore Fridman, right? I didn’t mishear that, did I?”
“All our proposals got approved? Pinch me; I must be dreaming!”
“Has Mr. Theodore Fridman had a personality transplant or something?”
When Theodore returned to his office, he found Sabrina immersed in her game, headphones on.”
It was the first time he’d seen such vibrant expressions on her face, and he couldn’t help but steal glances at her without interrupting.
Not long after, Theodore headed to the reception room. A few minutes later, the office door swung open.
The clicking sound of high heels grew louder and louder, approaching steadily.

Sabrina was so engrossed in her game that she didn’t catch on until the woman yanked out her power plug. Jolted, she took off the headphones and turned her eyes to the woman standing in front of her.
This woman had dainty features. Decked out in a spotless white dress, with her hair flowing over her shoulders, she looked every bit the innocent damsel straight out of a Hollywood flick.
“What are you doing?” Sabrina grumbled, her good vibes instantly killed.
She could feel the ill–will oozing from the woman, and it sure as hell didn’t brighten her day.
Felicity Simons didn’t answer right away. Instead, she sized Sabrina up and down, trying to find a chink in her armor. But this girl was drop–dead gorgeous, and it stirred up a toxic mix of envy and resentment in Felicity.
“So, what’s your deal with Mr. Theodore Fridman?” Felicity asked.
Sabrina arched an eyebrow.
Ah, so you’re not the sweet little thing you’re putting on to be. You’re a sneaky one, aren’t you?
“None of your business,” Sabrina retorted, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Got the itch to know? Well, I’m keeping my lips sealed.
Stumped, Felicity remained silent.

With Sabrina’s youth, she already had her assumptions, though she kept them to herself.
She looks like the type who’d sell herself off at such a young age. Clearly, Mr. Theodore Fridman is keeping her.
Just another little gold digger, flaunting her charm and flirting with men. How pathetic.
“You playing games here is disturbing Mr. Theodore Fridman while he’s working,” Felicity said, forcing a sweet smile.
After a moment, she added, feigning concern, “Should I have someone help you move your desk out? Mr. Theodore Fridman doesn’t like being disturbed.”
Sabrina ignored her.
How laughable. That level of manipulation is hardly impressive.
She asked, “And you are?”
Felicity crossed her arms, a proud smirk gracing her lips. “I’m Felicity Simons, personally recruited as an intern by Mr. Theodore Fridman.”
Sabrina gave a nod, her voice tinged with a touch of
disappointment. “Oh, so you’re just an intern, huh?”

She added, “Who do you think you are telling me what to do?”
“You probably won’t get it, but Mr. Theodore Fridman personally recruited me. I’m not like the rest,” Felicity said, barely holding back her rage. In her head, she was dying to give Sabrina a piece of her mind a hundred times over.
Sabrina let out a soft scoff. “Well, his taste must be in the gutter if he hired someone like you.”
“What did you say?” Felicity felt like she’d been slapped in the face, though she couldn’t quite put her finger on why.
“Nothing. You really think you’re something special, don’t you?” Sabrina laughed, finding the whole scene a hoot.
It was just ludicrous how some employees could start daydreaming about marrying into high society just because they landed a job.
Before Felicity could fire back, Sabrina hit her with another zinger. “You don’t seriously think Theodore’s going to marry you and make you Mrs. Fridman, do you?”
Felicity’s face went beet–red.
Even though that was exactly what she’d been fantasizing about, hearing this sassy girl say it out loud was shockingly embarrassing.
“Uh… of cour…” she replied.

Sabrina’s laughter was like a sharp blade. “Delusional. You should probably get your head checked.
“Delusions are a mental illness, after all.”
Her clear, youthful voice echoed in the office, each word strikingly distinct.
While Sabrina remained calm and collected, Felicity’s expressions shifted through frustration and disbelief. That friendly demeanor was slipping away rapidly.

So, Felicity finally dropped the facade. “You little bitch, what are. you playing at? Climbing into Mr. Theodore Fridman’s bed at your age? You’re quite the piece of work.
“Such a vixen! I bet you’ve hooked up with plenty of men.
“Your parents must be real pieces of work too…”
Before she could finish her thoughts, Felicity felt a sharp sting across her face.
Damn it! That little bitch, how can she be so strong?
She covered her face, looking at the person in front of her in disbelief. She never thought the girl would throw a punch.
After all, Sabrina had an innocent–looking face. Even when she didn’t smile and exuded an air of haughtiness and coldness, she didn’t seem aggressive at all.

Felicity winced, rubbing her cheek. Satisfied, Sabrina smiled and warned her, “If you dare insult me again, I won’t hesitate to hit you again.”
If it can be solved with a punch or a slap, it’s not a big deal.
Now that I’ve got a second chance at life, I’m not going to hold back. Anyone who gets on my nerves, I’ll take them down.
Felicity clutched her throbbing face, and the pain only stoked. the fire of her urge to get even. Just as she was about to let loose, she heard footsteps clattering down the hallway.
In a flash, she wiped her face and plopped down on the floor, and the tears started streaming.
“How could you lay a hand on me? I was just trying to keep you from bugging Mr. Theodore Fridman. Even if you weren’t happy, you didn’t have to slap me!” Felicity wailed.
Truth be told, Felicity looked quite fetching when she cried, with a kind of pitiful charm that was hard to resist.
When Theodore walked in, the sight that greeted him was a real shocker. His face clouded over, and his voice turned ice–cold.
“What’s going on here?” he demanded, fixing Sabrina with a
stare.
Sabrina looked up, meeting Theodore’s frosty eyes, and her
heart sank like a stone.

As she felt the coldness in his gaze, annoyance welled. up inside her.
“Yeah, I hit her. She had it coming. And I’m not saying sorry.”
Felicity felt a twinge of victory in her chest and finally let out a relieved sigh.
I knew Mr. Theodore Fridman had a soft spot for me. This little bitch doesn’t stand a chance.
“Mr. Theodore Fridman…”
Theodore snapped, “Shut your mouth… Get out.”
Just as Felicity was trying to work herself up into another bout of tears to tug at Theodore’s heartstrings, his freezing glare locked with hers, sending a shiver down her spine.
