Chapter 20 Syntheon Group
“I probably should be mad,” Theodore said lightly, his voice calm and even.
But he didn’t look mad at all.
Sabrina studied his face, searching for any hint of irritation or frustration, but found nothing. His expression was as unreadable as ever.
Before she could figure him out, Theodore continued, his tone softer now. “You shouldn’t let yourself get hurt.”
“That’s what you’re upset about?” Sabrina blinked, tilting her head and staring at him, her eyes wide with confusion.

“What else would it be?” Theodore’s lips curved into a sudden,
warm smile.
Sabrina opened her mouth to respond, but no words came out. A strange, unfamiliar feeling bubbled up inside her, catching her off guard.
She’d never felt anything like it before, and it threw her. Trying to shake it off, she pushed the sensation to the back of her mind, hoping it would fade.
Back home from school, Matthew summoned Kyle to the study.

With a cold face, he stared at his son, eyes sharp and full of repressed fury.

“Dad…” Kyle faltered, shrinking under the weight of Matthew’s anger. He’d always been intimidated by his father, and now his head dipped instinctively.
“Why did you lay a hand on your sister?” Matthew demanded, his voice sharp. The image of Sabrina’s blood–streaked face flashed in his mind, stirring a restless ache in his chest.
Deep down, a quiet fear gnawed at him. He could feel he was losing his daughter for good.
That thought terrified him.
Kyle looked up, startled, then pushed back. “Dad, she stole Brianna’s first place!”
Matthew’s eyes narrowed, glinting with exasperation. “Kyle, are you dense?”
Everyone knew the truth that Sabrina hadn’t cheated. He didn’t say it aloud, but it was obvious.
Kyle’s heart sank, but he doubled down, his voice stubborn. “She’s not my sister. Brianna is.”
His fists clenched, his gaze darting nervously.
The principal had already cleared things up, and deep down, Kyle knew Sabrina hadn’t cheated.

He wasn’t even sure why he was still arguing.

Matthew’s stare turned icy, pinning Kyle in place. The boy froze, his face draining of color.
“Kyle, those petty little schemes of yours? They’re pathetic,” Matthew said, his voice low and cutting.
“If you ever touch Rina again, don’t expect me to go easy on you just because you’re my son.”

To clear up the rumors, the next day Sage posted a video on the school’s website, personally vouching for Sabrina’s integrity. He also uploaded every one of her monthly exam papers from the past six months for everyone to see.
The students who’d been whispering about her cheating fell
silent after that.
Sabrina might have ranked near the bottom of the class before, but her exam papers were far more impressive than the ones from the top–ranked student.

Anyone who studied her work could see it. Sabrina on bothered with the hardest questions, skipping the easy ones entirely.
And the problems she tackled? Many were so complex that even the former number–one student couldn’t have solved them.

It was obvious to anyone with eyes that she hadn’t cheated.
Overnight, Sabrina became the talk of the school.
However, Sabrina herself didn’t know about it yet.

The past few days, she had taken time off to focus on business.
mallers.
Morgan Group had officially rebranded as Syntheon Group.
Syntheon Group’s core industries spanned artificial intelligence, electronics, medical devices, and biopharmaceuticals.
Lately, Sabrina had been ramping up production of the drugs she’d developed, and the medical world was buzzing about them. They were a hit, raking in serious cash.
She funneled every cent of that profit into her latest passion project–intelligent medical robots.
The
day her flagship creation, KON–K, was unveiled, Sabrina threw a grand exhibition, inviting business leaders from all corners to witness it.
Fridman Group was among the guests.
Theodore and Julian stepped into the venue and were instantly floored by the scene.
The exhibition booth was swarmed with people. There was no

way to squeeze in, so they watched from the giant screen in the hall.
A sharply dressed man stood at the booth, eyeing KON–K with a smirk.
“Looks fancy enough, but it’s probably useless,” he scoffed.
Someone nearby nodded. “Yeah, it’s slick, but the market’s flooded with these things. It’s no different from the housekeeping robot I have at home.”
As the crowd started to drift away, KON–K’s mechanical voice chimed in, bright and inviting. “Sir, I’ve got plenty of features! Come give me a try!”
The man paused, intrigued. “Alright, what can you do?”
KON–K didn’t miss a beat. “My capabilities include, but aren’t limited to, diagnosing illnesses, analyzing medical images, prescribing medication, monitoring health metrics, booking appointments, ordering prescriptions online, guiding rehab exercises, conducting checkups, offering companionship for seniors, and even tutoring students.”
The list was impressive, but the man wasn’t sold. He felt it sounded like a bunch of flashy gimmicks.
He chuckled, tossing out a challenge. “Fine, diagnose me then.”
“Activating diagnostic system. Preparing for a full–body scan,” KON–K announced.

The man stepped back to give it space.
A series of soft beeps followed.
“Scan complete.”
The screen lit up with a detailed report, packed with medical jargon.

The man glanced at it and froze. “A tumor? No way. I got a clean bill of health last year.”
That was no small thing. Panic crept into his eyes, and he bolted for the hospital.
After that, more people lined up to test KON–K’s features.
Its accuracy was uncanny, almost unnerving.
Theodore’s usual cool demeanor gave way to a rare seriousness.
Julian, meanwhile, was thinking about their own company’s stalled projects, ones that might get scrapped after this.
He didn’t know what to say.
After a moment, Theodore broke the silence. “What do you think?”
Julian didn’t hesitate. “It’s incredible.

“Once this expo wraps, Syntheon Group’s going to plant its flag in Los Angeles. We’ve got a new heavyweight competitor on our hands.”
Theodore stayed quiet, but his thoughts echoed Julian’s,
They wandered through the exhibits, checking out other medical service robots.
As they headed toward the lecture hall for a presentation, a loud shout stopped them in their tracks.
A man’s voice boomed nearby. “I owe Syntheon Group an apology! I underestimated them. If it weren’t for KON–K, I might’ve missed my chance to catch this in time.”
“Hey, aren’t you the guy from this morning? The one with the tumor?” someone called out.
“That’s me,” he confirmed.
The crowd buzzed with shock.
In just one day, KON–K had gone viral. Everyone was clamoring for its official release.
Theodore felt it in his gut that he was up against a formidable
rival.
What unsettled him most was that he couldn’t dig up a shred of info on Syntheon Group’s founder. Whoever was behind this was no ordinary player.

Sabrina, blissfully unaware she’d been pegged as a threat, was caught up in her own world.
With the company finally hitting its stride, she was swamped. It dawned on her that she needed help, an assistant to keep things running smoothly.
The next day, she posted a job ad online.
Syntheon Group was the hottest name in Los Angeles right now, and the response was overwhelming.
By morning, Sabrina’s inbox was flooded with thousands of
