Chapter 7
I could only reach my other hand into my pocket.
Pressing the cold silver needle next to Chelsea’s neck, I threatened her, “Let go.”
“Scarlett!” Sean grew anxious and quickly pulled her away.
“Don’t call my name!” I roared, flicking my hand.
“You want nothing but my blood, right?” I grabbed a glass from the table and squeezed the wound on my arm with great force, ignoring the pain. “Take it! Take it all!”
“What are you doing?” He rushed over and stopped me from hurting myself. Suppressing his desire for my fresh human blood, he looked at me, his eyes darkening, and said through gritted teeth, “As I said, this was an accident.
“I won’t hold you accountable for giving Chelsea the blood extractor, and I shouldn’t have allowed her to drink your blood.
“I promise it won’t happen again.”
Hold me accountable?
I aimed the silver needle at his chest without hesitation.
“You disgust me, Sean.”
I heard my voice devoid of any emotion, icier than ever.
Seeing the tip of the silver needle, he was totally enraged, his eyes

turning bloodshot. “You’re gonna kill me? Just to get back to that vampire?”
Throwing caution to the wind, he approached me step by step. The silver needle instantly pierced through his robe and could penetrate his heart at any second.
“You came back with me. I won’t let you go again.
“It doesn’t matter that our Blood Oath was broken. We’ll just take it again.”
Staring at my neck, he bared his fangs.
I realized taking another Blood Oath with me to tie me to him was the real purpose he forced me back.
“Sean!” suddenly, someone shouted anxiously and pulled him away from
- me.
It was Chelsea, who was lucid again.
“I took your blood extractor!” She burst into tears while standing in front of him. “I’m sorry… I’m so sorry.”
He pulled her closer to him at once and demanded, raising his voice, “What did you say?”
“I’m sorry, Sean…
“I just I wanted to be with you forever. I thought if I became a vampire, too, we’d be together forever… Forgive me, OK?”
Human beings had a limited lifespan, whereas a few decades was the
blink of an eye for vampires. To be with him forever, her only option was to become a vampire, too.

She hugged him, but he pushed her away hard.
Retracting his fangs, he looked at me in a daze, his eyes still red. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
I told him it wasn’t me, but he wouldn’t believe me.
He fed Chelsea with my blood and almost got me killed.
I turned to leave at once.
He wanted to chase after me, but Chelsea held him tightly, begging him not to leave her.
Pushing open the doors, I saw Alden waiting for me outside.
He took me home and dressed my wounds.
Then he told me he had taken care of the butler, and from now on, Sean had nothing to threaten me with.
I asked, “Why are you so nice to me?”
As he was about to answer, he received a message and had to deal with something urgent first.
It was around mealtime, so I went to the kitchen to prepare his meal.
Surprisingly, there was no kitchenware in the cupboard. After rummaging around, I found a freezer in a hidden corner,
All the bags of animal blood I had prepared for Alden were in the freezer; none of them was opened.
After dealing with the urgent matter, Alden noticed the look on my face and then explained it to me.

Only then did I know Lords only drank fresh human blood.
He had been starving for a long time, waiting for me.
He had sharp, aggressive facial features, but there was always faint tenderness in his eyes, which made me wonder how he would look when he drank blood.
With such a thought, I tore open my collar, exposing the part of my neck without any scar under his slightly surprised gaze.
invited him to take a Blood Oath with me again.
He stared at me intently, his gaze deep and complex, as if confirming with
- me.
Standing on tiptoe, I pecked his cheek. Immediately, his chest heaved violently, and he picked me up and set me down on the kitchen counter. Then he tugged down the other side of my collar and stroked the part of my neck covered with hideous scars.
His pupils darkened, and he was about to bare his fangs.
Just then, a loud bang rang out.
A vampire snarled and lunged at Alden.
Out of the corner of his eye, Alden flipped his hand and exerted force backward, and the attacker immediately stumbled backward.
“Let go of her!” Sean roared angrily and attacked again.
But Alden dealt with his attacks easily until he was pinned in place, unable to move at all. He roared in a hoarse voice, calling my name.
I buried my face in Alden’s neck, not looking up though I heard Sean’s roar clearly.
Chapter 7
“Scarlett, don’t take an oath with him!
“I know I got you wrong and hurt you… But you can’t take an oath with him just because you hate me!” His voice grew more and more uneasy. “You love me! I’m the one you love! Scarlett!”
Feeling my fluttering eyelashes, Alden raised his hand to silence Sean, and everything immediately quieted down.
“I won’t allow you to go back again,” hugging me, Alden whispered in my
ear.
“I’m not going anywhere.” I clutched the hem of his robe.
In the next.
he lowered his head and pierced my skin with his
fangs while patting my back, soothing me.
It hurt during the process, but the pain was nothing compared to the injuries I had endured before. When my gaze lifted involuntarily, I met a pair of utterly familiar, bloodshot eyes–Sean witnessed me taking a Blood Oath with another vampire.
