Chapter 29
Sarah bit her lip, about to politely decline, when she saw Mia waving enthusiastically at someone in the distance. “Zac!”
Sarah looked up to see Zachary stepping out of his car. His tailored suit gave his usual understated presence an extra edge, though his eyes remained mysteriously enchanting and unreadable.
Sarah felt a slight shiver as she walked toward him under that intense gaze.
“Mr. Reynolds, what a coincidence,” she greeted.
Zachary looked at her, his lips curving into a slight smile. “Not a coincidence.”
Meanwhile…
Meanwhile, Lucy stormed out of the administrative office, clutching her disciplinary notice and furiously scrolling through the
appreciation posts about Sarah. Her anger boiled over.
So Sarah really was that legendary senior student!
And she’d never mentioned it to any of them!
The fact that Sarah had hidden such a huge secret from the Chancer family all these years only convinced Lucy that it had been
deliberate.
Ever since divorcing James, that woman had been against their family at every turn–keeping their property, and now getting
Lucy in trouble.
She was nothing like the compliant person she’d pretended to be!
Unacceptable!
She had to tell James what Sarah had done!
Fuming, she stormed out of the building. But then, in the distance, she spotted Sarah standing with a man. Lucy’s eyes widened,
fury sparking. *That bitch already found someone else?*
They weret too far for her to clearly see the man’s face, but she could make out his well–built figure. Something about him
seemed vaguely familiar, though she couldn’t place it.
Without another thought, Lucy whipped out her phone and took several photos, smiling smugly as she put it away. This would
teach Sarah a lesson. She’d show these to her brother, accuse Sarah of cheating during their marriage, and then watch her life fall
apart.
Sarah wasn’t keen on getting too close to Zachary and had been thinking of an excuse to slip away when Mia wrapped herself
around her arm with a pleading look. “Sarah, you promised we’d have dinner together–you can’t leave me hanging!”

With Mia holding her tightly, her big eyes full of sincerity, Sarah found herself nodding, despite her reservations. “Alright.”
She looked up, meeting Zachary’s gaze, which held a hint of amusement. Her heart skipped a beat, feeling as if she’d just fallen
into some kind of trap set by these two siblings.
“Let’s go,” he said.
A black Cayenne rolled up beside them, and the driver unlocked the doors. Before Sarah could react, Mia had already darted into the front passenger seat, rolling down the window to poke her head out with a grin. “Sarah, I get carsick. I’ll sit up front, so you
sit in the back with my brother!”
“After you, Miss Sanders.” Zachary had already opened the rear door for her, raising an eyebrow with a polite yet teasing smile.
“Ladies first.”
With no other option, Sarah climbed into the car, settling in the back seat.
The Cayenne’s back seat was spacious, but with Zachary’s tall frame beside her, the space felt a bit close. As the door closed, his
subtle scent filled the air, unexpectedly pleasant and calming.
