Chapter 30
Sarah subtly shifted closer to the car door, keeping a respectful distance. Zachary, noticing her small move, narrowed his eyes slightly, then let it pass, knowing she tended to be reserved around unfamiliar people.
“Mr. Reynolds, are we headed to St Ritz Hotel?” the driver asked, glancing in the rearview mirror. He noticed Sarali’s effort to keep her distance and couldn’t help but add a note of respect to his tone.
St Ritz Hotel was Zachary’s usual choice for business meetings, where he had a permanent private dining room.
Zachary considered for a moment before looking at Sarah. “Do you have any preferances, Miss Sanders?”
Caught off guard, Sarah paused, then replied, “If St Ritz is your usual spot, let’s go there. You’ve helped me a few times already, and today Mia’s been a huge help as well. This dinner can be my treat to thank you both.”
She knew she owed Zachary a favor, even if his help had been for his sister’s sake. Now that she’d agreed to help Mia with counseling, repaying the favor felt appropriate.
Zachary didn’t object, simply giving a nod to the driver. “Let’s go.
St Ritz Hotel was one of the most exclusive hotels in the city, known for its elite clientele and steep prices, where a single dinner
could easily cost tens of thousands.
The black Cayenne came to a smooth stop at the hotel entrance. Despite Zachary’s understated choice of vehicle, the
distinguished “8888” license plate immediately caught the attention of the valet, who hurried over to open the door with
respectful enthusiasm.
The lobby manager quickly arrived with a warm smile. “Mr. Reynolds, welcome! Your suite is ready. Is it just you and Miss Reynolds tonight?”
Zachary’s gaze shifted to Sarah as she gracefully exited the car on her own, causing him to frown slightly in disapproval.
Only then did the manager notice the unfamiliar woman accompanying Zachary, a man known for never bringing any women
besides his sister. Being a seasoned professional, he quickly assessed Sarah’s appearance. Her clothing was tasteful but mid- range brands, her bag probably under a thousand dollars. Despite this, her poise and beauty made her a natural match beside Zachary, exuding a refined charm that didn’t go unnoticed.
The manager quickly adjusted his attitude, still smiling respectfully. “My apologies, Mr. Reynolds. We should have anticipated.
better. We weren’t aware there was someone else joining.” d
Sarah smiled politely, dismissing the concern. “No need to worry.”
Their presence soon attracted attention from passersby, as Zachary was well–known in the city’s elite circles and rarely went
unnoticed.
At that moment, James arrived in the parking area with Charlotte. Charlotte gasped softly, her voice filled with surprise. “James,
Isn’t that Sarah?”
James halted abruptly, eyes snapping up to the sight of the slender, elegant woman standing confidently next to Zachary, who exuded an air of authority. The onlookers around them were visibly intrigued.
It’s Zachary Reynolds! James thought, shocked. He had never heard of Zachary dining with a woman.
During the three years Sarah was married to him, she’d always been devoted to their home. She never dined with other men, not
even as friends.
Now,
his gaze darkened as he fixed on her distant figure, feeling a strange irritation rising within him.
When had she gotten involved with Reynolds?
If anyone could read his thoughts, they’d roll their eyes: Wake up, you’re divorced.
