Chapter 28 Afraid of Bothering Her Idol
Seeing Jaslyn, Antwan released Yolanda’s hand in anger.
Yolanda rubbed her wrist while saying to Jaslyn, “Please keep your fiancé from pestering me.”
“Yolanda!” Antwan gnashed his teeth.
Yolanda entered the password, got into her place, and closed the door without even glancing at him.
“Yolanda, Antwan and I are going on vacation for about 2 days,” Jaslyn smiled.
“So?” Yolanda didn’t understand why Jaslyn told her that.
“You’re my personal doctor, so you have to come with us.”
Before Yolanda could respond, Antwan said with a frown, “Jaslyn, don’t bring her along.”
“But something seems wrong with my abdomen recently. Her coming with us will put me at ease.”
Antwan nodded vigorously. “OK then. Let’s bring her.”
“Excuse me?” Yolanda pulled a wry face. “Don’t you think you should’ve asked if I agree?”
Antwan squinted. “You have to agree.”
“Why?”
“Because I can turn your parents‘ house into ruins anytime.”

Yolanda clenched her fists. He kept threatening her with the house, which she had sold for him to start a business. Thus, she regretted it.
She took a deep breath and nodded with a derisive smile. “Fine. I’ll go. Just don’t mind me being the third wheel.”
Gemma came back late.
She had gone to Elvis’s pub for a drink. Right after she got in, she hugged Yolanda and began weeping.
“What’s wrong?”
Gemma’s voice was choking, so she could only shake her head.
After a long while, she finally got better.
“I…I just feel stupid…”
Yolanda pulled Gemma to sit down in the living room and gave her a glass of warm water.
Gemma drank it, wiped the tears from her face, and continued, “Skyline Entertainment signed me.”
“Isn’t that good?”
“But they told me to give the role I had gotten from Markus to a newbie.”
“You can do that?”
“They told me to ask for Markus‘ permission. If he agrees, the company will give me another role in another play as compensation.”
“What if Markus disagrees?”

“They didn’t tell me. I guess they’ll stop me from getting any roles from them or other people. They’ll corner me.”
“Then terminate the contract with them.”
“I told them that. But according to the related provision, I have to pay them a huge amount of money that I cannot come up with no matter how.”
Yolanda sat down beside Gemma, patted her on the shoulder, and asked her to calm down.
“I have a friend who’s a lawyer. Let’s go to him tomorrow.”
“No, Yolanda. I am heavily indebted. I don’t have much time to waste on a case.”
“Then what are you gonna do?”
“I’ll meet with Markus tomorrow. I hope he can help me.”
Antwan and Jaslyn left in the afternoon, so Yolanda could go to Markus‘ studio with Gemma in the morning.
The studio was a villa built in the 1950s, located in the bustling downtown, surrounded by skyscrapers. The villa had a large yard. Bushy sycamore trees and chirping birds greeted them when they entered it, which was like another world.
The first floor was a spacious book bar.
A few people were reading or drinking coffee. It was so quiet that even a person’s footsteps could be heard.
“Who is Ms. Werner?” A female staff member in a black suit walked over.

“Come with me. I’ll take you to the second floor to meet with Mr. Brody.”
“OK. Can my friend come with me?”
The female staff member glanced at Yolanda and smiled, “Please stay here for some coffee. The coffee here is great.”
Yolanda thanked the female staff member, patted Gemma on the shoulder, and told her not to be nervous.
“I’ll be waiting here.”
Gemma took a deep breath. “OK.”
“Call me if you can’t handle it.”
“OK.”
After Gemma left with the female staff member. Yolanda took a random seat. A giant bookcase was behind her, but she was not in the mood for reading.
Right then, a curvaceous woman in a red coat and sunglasses walked downstairs. She had long curly hair, wearing high heels that clattered over the ground.
Yolanda recognized her as Denise Odom and began to take small breaths with excitement. Denise was a legend, stars in many internationally acclaimed TV shows and movies, one of the top 100 actresses in history, and the first who had won awards for Best Actress in the 3 most prestigious film festivals in the world. She had been awarded so many times that no one else could hold a candle to her.
But she retired at 50 because something bad had happened to her family.
Was she going to act in Markus‘ TV show?
Yolanda was Denise’s fan. She wanted to ask for Denise’s autograph, she was so afraid of bothering Denise that she didn’t even breathe normally.
Denise looked proud, walking with her chin up. But she had the right to act like that. After all, she was a gorgeous actress who had won many
awards.
After she walked by Yolanda, she stopped walking to turn around.
Yolanda was taking a peek at her back, so their eyes met. Yolanda looked away abruptly like she was caught doing something bad.

Yolanda turned back to Denise in puzzlement and saw Denise’s eyes were still on her.
Yolanda wondered if Denise was talking to her. “H–Hello.”
Denise took off her sunglasses and continued her searching look.
“It’s you!” Denise’s eyes lit up. She clattered to Yolanda. “You are…my fan, right?”
“What? Yes, I…I am.”
“Great!”
Why was Denise so excited? After all, Yolanda was her fan, not the other way around.
“What’s your name?”
“Me?”
“Yes.”

Yolanda moved back. “My name is Yolanda Nielsen.
“You are…really…my fan!” Denise laughed.
Yolanda moved back again, confused as to why Denise was over the
moon.
“Girl, you are beautiful.”
“You…you are more beautiful.”
“Nonsense. You don’t look in the mirror often, do you? Your eyes are clear, your nose is straight, and your mouth is medium–sized. Besides, you have an unworldly temperament.”
Yolanda didn’t know what to say.
Her idol seemed off.
“May I take a photo with you?”
“Of…of course.”
Hearing that, Denise gave her phone to her assistant and sat beside Yolanda with excitement. She changed her pose several times and wrapped her arm around Yolanda’s shoulders in the end with a broad smile.
Yolanda tried to make her smile natural, but it could still be a little twisted.
Then, Denise gave Yolanda her phone number and told Yolanda to call her anytime.
Before Denise left, she revealed a wistful look.
