Chapter 51
News spread quickly across campus…
The legendary Zachary Reynolds had appeared at Adams University, and apparently was friends with Miss Sanders. Word was he’d come specifically to defend her reputation.
Students couldn’t help but speculate. If their relationship was merely that of casual friends, would someone as busy as Mr. Reynolds personally show up? Wouldn’t sending an assistant have been enough to handle it?
Clearly, their relationship must be special. And seeing them walk together, they made a striking pair. Imagine how gorgeous their
children would be!
The slanderous forum posts were completely deleted, replaced by photos of Sarah and Zachary walking together, looking like something out of a romance novel.
Comments had already started shipping them as a couple, though the subjects remained oblivious.
Meanwhile in class, as news spread about Mrs. Chancer’s false accusations, students began giving Lucy hostile looks.
“Can you believe it? Her son cheats, but they accuse the daughter–in–law of adultery just to get back some money and property. What a nightmare mother–in–law!”
“Seriously! I’d rather marry an orphan than deal with a mother–in–law like that. Miss Sanders must have terrible karma to end up with that family.”
“Did you guys see the video? It’s ridiculous! And honestly, compensating someone with a bit of money and a few houses for three years of their youth? That’s the least they could do.”
“You don’t know anything!” Lucy jumped up, slamming her book on the desk and glaring at her gossiping classmates.
That witch Sarah had somehow turned public opinion around. Even her mother’s intervention had backfired, putting them under
scrutiny instead.
Her brother would be furious when he found out.
Lucy checked the university forum, seething with jealousy at the pinned photos. That tramp Sarah really knew how to seduce men – no wonder she’d managed to turn things around.
“We might not know everything, but without your brother, your family would be nothing. You’re just hiding behind his power.
“Yeah, acting all high and mighty with us,but in front of someone more powerful, you probably wouldn’t dare say a word.”
“Shut up!” Lucy hadn’t expected these usually submissive people to mock her. “One more word and I’ll have my brother get you
all expelled!”
Her classmates exchanged glances but fell silent, though their contempt was obvious.

Chapter 51
Meanwhile, Sarah and Zachary walked openly along the campus path, making no attempt to hide, which led to the photos
circulating online.
Sarah glanced at the man beside her. “Thank you for earlier. It would have been difficult to handle alone.”
Zachary’s low chuckle was mesmerizing, and Sarah found herself staring at his perfect profile.
He was flawless from every angle, without a single imperfection.
She wondered what kind of woman could possibly be worthy of such a man.
