Chapter 55
“Sarah, I’ve apologized – what more do you want? My mother really didn’t mean to…” Lucy forced herself to follow, rambling on to convince Sarah of her sincerity.
Sarah shot her a cold glance. “If you and your mother genuinely don’t want to cause me trouble or truly want to apologize, the best thing you can do is stay far, far away from me. The farther, the better.”
Lucy was already angry, and this response nearly made her explode.
She could only watch Sarah walk away, her eyes sharp with hatred. You ungrateful bitch, throwing my apology back in my face. Just wait and see!
News of Lucy’s apology quickly spread on the university forum, complete with photos, lending it credibility.
As a result, Lucy’s reputation at school gradually improved.
“Who knew the spoiled Lucy was capable of apologizing? Why blame her for her mother’s mistake?”
“The fact that she can apologize shows character. She’s our classmate after all – maybe we should be kinder.”
“As a socialite, she must have good upbringing. See? Once things were cleared up, she apologized to Miss Sanders. She deserves a second chance.”
While a few negative comments about Lucy lingered under the post, the majority of the remarks were surprisingly positive. Some even complimented her looks. Compared to the previous flood of criticism, this was a significant improvement.
Lucy scrolled through the forum comments, relieved to see her reputation turning around.
Meanwhile, another hot topic was circulating – the Reynolds family’s upcoming gala.
Invitations to Reynolds events were notoriously difficult to obtain. Only high society members received them, and people would do anything to attend.
Naturally, Mia’s classroom was buzzing. As the Reynolds heiress, she had authority to distribute invitations. Most Adams students came from wealthy business families, all hoping for an invitation.
Attending the gala could elevate their family businesses, so they were desperate to seize the opportunity.
“Mia, look at this new Chanel bag my dad brought from overseas – do you like it?”
“Mia, I have Johnny’s authentic autograph – I know you’re a fan!”
Mia’s face scrunched up in frustration. Every time her family hosted an event, people tried everything to win her favor. But she

only had a few precious invitations – they had to go to important connections.
She stuffed her things into her backpack and pushed through the crowd of classmates, heading quickly to the psychology counseling office.
Mia peeked her cute face around the door to find Sarah absorbed in reading psychological literature, its black and gold cover adorned with a black rose, suggesting something noble and mysterious.
