Chapter 63
Something felt off about the whole incident–first Mia’s dress gets stained, then she’s lured out here.
Without her having to explain, Zachary had already ordered security to check the cameras.
“I know. Don’t worry, I’ll find who’s responsible. Let’s get you inside – It’s cold out here.”
Sarah felt warmed by his jacket, still holding his body heat. He always appeared when she needed him most, like a ray of light in
darkness. She unconsciously moved closer to him.
Her heart was still racing, the terrifying incident now transformed into anger, mixed with the warmth of Zachary’s protection.
She nodded, walking beside him. “Thank you. I owe you another favor.”
Zachary’s eyes remained cold, still angry about the incident. Her sincere gratitude made him uncomfortable. “You’re my guest.
Your safety is my responsibility. This isn’t about favors.”
When they returned to the ballroom, no one knew what had happened in the garden, except for two pairs of anxious eyes
watching them.
Lucy had been nervously watching the garden door since Sarah left. When she saw the waiter exit alone and lock the door, she
trembled with excitement.
She could imagine what would happen next – once exposed, Sarah would become the scandal of the party, and Zachary would
finally see her true nature.
Charlotte stayed by James’s side, distracted from conversations until she saw Zachary rush to the garden. She realized their plant
had failed again.
Why? How did that woman always escape?
While Charlotte was still lamenting, Lucy rushed over panicking.
“Cha
“Charlotte, she’s fine! Zachary saved her again!” 1
Charlotte suppressed her frustration, speaking calmly. “Don’t panic. Keep calm, or people will suspect you’re involved.”
“What if they investigate…”
“Don’t worry, the waiter’s gone,” Charlotte assured her.
Mia came running downstairs in a new dress, even prettier than before. She rushed to Sarah, “How do I look?”
“Beautiful.”
“Sarah, what happened to your wrist? It’s all red!” Mia asked worriedly.
Sarah didn’t want to worry her. “Just bumped it. It’s nothing.”

“No way! Don’t lie to me! Did Lucy do this? I’ll make her pay!” She started storming toward Lucy.
Zachary stopped her. “Someone used my name to lure Sarah to the garden. They tried to hurt her.”
“What?!” Mia’s eyes widened.
How dare anyone cause trouble at a Reynolds event, especially targeting Zachary’s date?
Mia grabbed Zachary’s arm angrily. “Zac! Don’t let them get away with this. I should have stayed with Sarah!”
If she hadn’t left, this wouldn’t have happened.
The hotel manager approached Zachary. “Mr. Reynolds, security footage shows the waiter locked the door and left the hotel.
We’ve tried calling him, but his phone’s disconnected, and the address he provided is
vacant.”
