Chapter 66
Lucy’s mind was spinning as she walked toward the stairs. The thought of the necklace Mia mentioned–a piece worth billions- made her heart race. Was Zachary really planning to give it to her? Surely, he must have realized she was far better than Sarah.
Her heartbeat quickened as she approached the far–left room on the second floor. The idea of meeting Zachary alone left her both nervous and thrilled. She lightly knocked on the door, her face flushed with excitement, but before she could knock again, the
door swung open on its own. She stepped inside, and the room was pitch black, with no lights on
“Mr. Reynolds?” she called out tentatively.
Silence greeted her. The darkness felt oppressive, and a sliver of fear began creeping in.
“Bang!”
The door slammed shut behind her, plunging her into total darkness.
“Mr. Reynolds! Are you there?” Her voice trembled as she pressed her hands against the walls, searching for a light switch, but all
she felt was the cold, hard surface.
Then, with a sudden click, the lights turned on.
She froze, her eyes widening as she saw a man in the room–someone she recognized. Her face turned pale, and she instinctively
bolted toward the door.
“Lucy, stop right there!”
The man’s furious voice echoed as he blocked her escape.
“You’re not going anywhere! How dare you trick me? You told me that woman was promiscuous and convinced me to try to keep
her as my mistress. Now, because of you, I’ve lost my collaboration with the Reynolds family and been completely blacklisted!
This is all your fault!”
“You can’t blame me!” Lucy’s face was ashen, her voice sharp with panic. “She’s just a divorced woman! Who knows why
Zachary protects her so much? Besides, your actions were your choice! How is this my fault?”
The man roared in anger, his eyes bloodshot. “Would I have noticed her if it weren’t for you? You told me this would secure a
partnership with the Chancer family! None of this would have happened if you hadn’t planned it all!”
“Shut up! You’re spouting nonsense! I have no idea what you’re talking about!” Lucy’s voice was shrill as she pushed him away, but he grabbed her again.
Her eyes filled with fear as she stared at the enraged man. “Let me go! I’m part of the Chancer family! We’re at the Reynolds‘ banquet. Don’t you dare do anything reckless! I’m warning you!”

ruined me! I’ve lost everything because of you!” His bloodshot eyes were terrifying, and Lucy’s entire body trembled. In desperation, she swung her handbag at him. “Get away from me! Yes, I told you to target her… So what? You’ve already crossed

the Reynolds family. Do you want to go against the Chancer family too?“.
The man faltered as the handbag struck him, giving Lucy the chance to lunge for the door.
“What’s the rush?” A sharp voice stopped her in her tracks. Steven appeared out of nowhere, blocking her path.
Lucy’s hands, pressed against the door, trembled uncontrollably. “Who are you?”
From the other side of the room, two more figures approached, and the man who had accosted her was already being taken away.
Lucy’s pupils shrank as she recognized the two people walking toward her–Sarah and Zachary,
“Sarah! Mr. Reynolds!” she cried out in panic. “Mr. Reynolds, it’s not what it looks like! I can explain!”
But Zachary’s cold expression made her realize the truth. Her gaze darted to Sarah, and she screamed hysterically, “You
scheming bitchh! You set me up! You’re so vicious!”
Sarah’s eyes were like frozen steel as they bore into Lucy. Her voice was equally cold and merciless as she replied.
