Chapter 72
At the apartment building, Mia quickly shooed Steven out of the car.
Sarah chuckled softly and got out too.
Mia was seizing every opportunity to play matchmaker between Sarah and Zachary, pulling Steven aside.
“Mia, let’s head up. Mr. Reynolds has been drinking and needs to rest,” Sarah walked over to Mia and took her hand.
“But Zac…” Mia widened her eyes, giving Zachary meaningful looks.
Zachary spoke gently, “Mia, Miss Sanders is tired. You should go rest too.”
“Oh, alright.” Mia let Sarah lead her into the building.
Zachary and Steven leaned against the car side by side, watching them go in.
“Want one?” Steven offered him a cigarette.
Zachary took it but just held it between his fingers, not smoking,
“What about the Chancer family?”
“They need to be taught a lesson.”
As night deepened, they got in the car.
After the party incident was settled, Sarah could focus entirely on the psychology knowledge competition.
Just as she submitted the proposal, Mia brought over a stack of forms. “Sarah, look! We have so many people signing up this time.
Previous students said it’s at least double the usual number!”
Sarah took the registration forms and flipped through them. “This many?”
“Don’t worry, Sarah. I already spoke with the student council president this morning and secured the school’s largest
auditorium,” Mia said cheerfully.
Sarah patted her head, “You’re so thoughtful, Mia. We’re lucky to have you.”
With the venue settled and everything else planned out, the competition details were mostly finalized.
At Adams University, Lucy entered the classroom and noticed some classmates pointing at her and whispering.
She didn’t know what was happening until Lindsey came in and carefully approached her. “Lucy, haven’t you seen what’s happening? Check the forum!”
Lucy immediately pulled out her phone and saw a glaring headline: “Lucy Chancer Plots Against Sarah at Reynolds Family Party – Jealousy or Revenge?!”

The article detailed everything she’d done at the party as if from an eyewitness account.
The post had numerous views and sparked intense discussion.
“I always knew Lucy was bad news. She’s so arrogant at school, but the Chancers is nothing compared to the Reynolds!”
“So this is what she did! She was just falsely accusing Miss Sanders, and now she pulls something this nasty. How disgusting!”
“It’s scary to think we’re classmates with someone like this. She’s bullied so many people before!”
Lucy’s anger surged. After a few more scrolls, she slammed her phone on the desk in fury.
The good reputation she’d worked so hard to rebuild was shattered by this post. Who could have done this?
“Lucy, are you okay?” Lindsey looked frightened by Lucy’s expression.
Lucy ignored her and ran out with her phone.
In the counseling office, Sarah was in session with a student.
“Miss Sanders, I feel so much pressure. My family thinks I’m not trying hard enough…”
Sarah responded kindly, “It’s normal to feel pressure at this stage. Senior year is a sensitive time – you’re dealing with your thesis and worried about employment…”
