Chapter 75
He turned to Steven: “Why don’t you bring out all your recommendations?”
Finally satisfied, Steven took the menu and first served the Australian blue prawns he’d mentioned. Mia’s eyes lit up at the sight.
At the Chancer house..
Lucy came home in a terrible mood. “Mom! It’s so humiliating! The school forum is full of posts about what I did at the party yesterday. Everyone at school was looking at me strangely!”
Mrs. Chancer stood up immediately, her brows furrowed. “It must be that whore Sarah! She just won’t let our family be!”
“It was h
“It was her! I confronted her about it, but she denied everything. Then Mia actually claimed she did it herself. Sarah must have
convinced Mia to target me – she just can’t stand seeing me happy! What should I do? I don’t want to go to school anymore!”
Lucy began to cry.
Mrs. Chancer, heartbroken for her daughter, immediately contacted school officials to remove the forum posts. But they soon
discovered that as soon as one post was deleted, another would quickly trend.
Charlotte heard the commotion downstairs and came down to find Lucy crying. From the fragments of conversation, she pieced
together what had happened.
She smirked inwardly – Lucy was such a fool, always running home crying when things went wrong. Still, Charlotte needed Lucy
and her mother’s help with her relationship with James.
With this in mind, she went downstairs. “What happened, Lucy?”
Seeing Charlotte reminded Lucy of yesterday’s events, and anger flashed in her eyes. “This is all your fault! It was your terrible
idea yesterday, but I’m taking all the blame. If I hadn’t listened to you, I wouldn’t be the laughingstock of the school!”
Though Charlotte’s face darkened, she kept her composure and said softly, “Lucy, I’m sorry about yesterday. I was only trying to
help you. I’m worried about this situation too.”
James pushed open the door, his face stern. “Trying to avoid responsibility for your own mistakes? And blaming your sister–in-
law? You need to do some self–reflection.”
“James, you can’t treat your sister like this! Sarah drove her to it! The Reynolds family keeps blindly protecting her – that witch
must have them under some spell!” Mrs. Chancer jumped in.
James suddenly remembered how Zachary and Sarah had appeared together at yesterday’s party. The thought stuck in his throat
like a fishbone – impossible to swallow or spit out, irritating no matter how he looked at it.
“Brother! Don’t sponsor Sarah’s psychology competition, and don’t let anyone else sponsor it either!” Lucy pouted, tugging at
James’s sleeve childishly.
James hesitated. “Our family has always sponsored the competition. If this time…”

“Brother! Why aren’t you on my side? I want Sarah to have nowhere to turn but to beg me! Besides, you gave her so much money
she can sponsor it herself!” Lucy’s teeth clenched at the thought of those 8 million.
Charlotte noticed James’s hesitation and casually remarked, “James, just agree to Lucy’s request. Miss Sanders has gotten so
close to Mr. Reynolds lately–he’ll probably step in to help.”
At these words, James’s face instantly darkened. “So she really has connected with the Reynolds family.”
Mrs. Chancer seized the opportunity: “That woman is quite something. She’s the one who messed up first, and the divorce was
her own doing. You even gave her all those properties – I’m sure she’s secretly delighted.”
