Chapter 82
Charlotte quickly took the gift from her. “Miss Sanders, welcome. Lucy is getting ready upstairs. Please, come in and make yourself comfortable”
Inside, Sarah found the party already crowded. She had to admit Charlotte had done an excellent job hosting – just as good as when she used to plan these events when she was still married to James.
The gu

all connected to the Chancer family, and many knew Sarah. Her entrance drew numerous glances and whispers.
She ignored them, scanning the room only to find Jane wasn’t there yet. With about fifteen minutes until the party officially began, she’d probably arrive soon. The other guests were already mingling and chatting.
Sarah stood alone to one side until Mrs. Chancer noticed her and came over.
“I can’t believe you actually came. I thought you wouldn’t show up. Let me warn you – behave yourself today, or else!” Mrs.
Chancer said with barely concealed hostility.
With no familiar faces around, and Mrs. Chancer walking away, Charlotte approached. “Miss Sanders, how do you like the party?”
She’d planned everything meticulously from hiring the best pastry chef for fresh desserts to arranging the drinks and selecting
the flowers throughout the hall.
“That’s not really what you wanted to say, is it?” Sarah wasn’t playing along. She knew Charlotte’s sweet, understanding
demeanor masked ulterior motives.
Charlotte smiled. “Miss Sanders, I just realized how much work you used to put into these events. At least you don’t have to
handle them anymore.”
“Using Jane Lawrence to lure me here was your idea, wasn’t it?” Sarah’s smile turned strange.
Charlotte looked at Sarah innocently. “Inviting you was Lucy’s idea. I knew nothing about it. I’ve always wanted to invite you
myself but wasn’t sure you’d come. Lucy managed to get you here though.”
“Miss Garnett, why don’t you attend to the other guests? I’d like to be alone.”
Charlotte’s face briefly darkened before she hurried away.
Sarah observed the hall. A huge screen dominated the center, probably for displaying photos or videos of Lucy.
Beyond the Chancer family’s guests, many reporters were taking photos.
Everyone wore extravagant formal wear, eager to stand out.
Most guests had arrived, but still no sign of Jane.
As Sarah pondered this, a commotion arose at the entrance. First came a young woman in a pink dress, looking elegant yet

playful.
It was Mia!
And behind her was Zachary!
Sarah watched in shock as they entered. Mia spotted her immediately.
“Sarah, I made it!” She rushed to Sarah’s side.
Zachary was momentarily held up by reporters before finally breaking free.
“Why are you here?” Sarah steadied Mia, her previously tense expression softening.
“I brought my brother. The Chancer family invited us too. Since you came, of course we had to come,” Mia said proudly.
Zachary joined them. “Hey Sasa, it’s been a while.”
“We just saw each other the day before yesterday,” Sarah raised
