Chapter 21
Rhett pitied his ex–lover, so he married her.
With this marriage certificate, Rebecca was able to stand firm.
“Why did you want to go back to your home country?
“I heard that Rhett left, and I wanted to become Mrs. Welch legitimately.”
Milton nodded, Rebecca’s statement was basically accurate, and it didn’t differ much from what the secretary found.
The secretary raised her wrist to check the time, and then reminded Milton
“It was time for the wedding, you should leave now.”
Milton stood up and buttoned his suit.
When Rebecca reached the door, she suddenly asked,
nly asked, “Is your bride Cecelia, right?”
Before Milton could answer, Rebecca continued speaking to herself.
“Cecelia was really lucky. Rhett wanted to kill me for her, and you didn’t even care that she was married.”
Milton didn’t look back. “It’s not that Cecily was locky, she was good in herself. Love gives its all without impurities, letting go cleanly and without delay.”
“Marrying her was my good fortune.”
He left the club without looking back.
Rebecca rumbly stuffed food into her mouth, muttering, “It’s so good to be able to eat and be full, so good.”
Her voice choked, tears streaming down her face
Cecelia walked out of the fitting room wearing a fishtail gown and immediately spotted Milton leaning on the sofa.
I told the secretary that if you were busy, you didn’t need to come over. I can handle it myself.
Cecelia spoke the truth.
When Rhett got married, he was in a period of career advancement.
“Cecily, you went to pick your wedding dress yourself, we had an important client tonight.”
“Cecily, you booked the hotel venue, I had a dinner appointment.”
“Cecily, just pick any wedding ring for now, and I’ll have it customized for you when we have money.”
So, that hasty and rudimentary wedding, from beginning to end, was organized solely by Cecelia
Rhett only attended the wedding day and before the host even spoke, he turned the ceremony, which belonged to the two of them, into a networking event and a promotion for the Welch Group
Cecelia was left aside, hungry, watching him push cups and exchange them.
