at her broken phone and went to the mall to buy a new one.
After going to the hospital to treat her wound, Kendra looked at h
If it were in the past, she would at most change a screen and mess around for a while, but now she doesn’t want to save anymore.
She bought the latest model of Apple directly, spending over ten thousand, which was more than a tenth of her hard–earned down payment for buying a
house.
After going back, she logged into all her accounts and happened to see new updates on Instagram, so she clicked on it.
It was a live picture that Erick had just shared
She used to use an Android before, and she couldn’t hear the live sound at all. But now, she has switched to an iPhone, and as soon as she opens it, she can hear the sound in the background image
“Erick, it was just a confession ceremony, and you made it so grand!”
Her body stiffened slightly.
Did Erick start preparing to confess just after they said they wanted to break up?
Alright
She lifted her head and glanced at the date circled in red on the calendar.
Only seven days were left since she left
In the following days, Erick never returned home again, using part–time work as an excuse
Kendra knew he was busy confessing his feelings, while she was busy packing her luggage, without revealing it.
Until late at night, Erick came back
He drank heavily, completely drunk, and his consciousness was unclear. As soon as he entered the door, he held Kendra and murmured incessantly, with a slight redness in his eyes.
“Those roses were your favorite, and the ring was specially customized for you. All our friends around as blessed us, hoping that we could be together. But in the end, it couldn’t withstand his apology, right?”
“Why can’t you see me? Clearly, clearly I was the one who accompanied you for over a decade. What is so good about him that you can’t stop thinking about him?!
As he spoke, his voice became slightly lower and choked with emotion.
Looking at his miserable and dejected appearance, Kendra remained indifferent”
Because she know, he mistook someone and took her for Beatrice
Through these drunken words, she had already roughly understood everything that had happened today.
It was just that Erick confessed, and Beatrice rejected him once again.
She listened silently, without taking care of him, and went to bed directly to rest.
Erick was woken up by the cold the next day.
The air conditioner was on all night, and he slept on the sofa without changing his clothes, without even a blanket.
He felt dizzy in his head, his stomach was churning, and he felt uncomfortable all over his body.
He struppled
to get up and entered the kitchen, but he didn’t see anything
didn’t she prepare it today?

He entered the bedroom wanting to ask a question, but he saw her folding clothes in front of the wardrobe, with a large suitcase on the floor. Suddenly, he panicked, oven he didn’t expect such a surge of panic.
“What were you doing with the box? Are you going out?”
Kendra’s hands didn’t stop moving, and she didn’t even l

look at him.
“It’s about to change seasons soon, so I’m talking out some clothes to clean.”

Erick wanted to ask more questions, but Kendra had already turned and entered the bathroom.
Over the next few days, Beatrice kept posting various lovey–dovey videos and photos on Instagram.
Erick also didn’t have the mood to investigate Kendra’s strangeness anymore. He became depressed and spent his days at home, staring blankly and dozing off.
Kendra silently watched, busy with her own thoughts
On the third last day, she went back home and informed her family about joining the confidential research project.
On the second–to–last day, she met up with her friends and said goodbye.
On the last day, Beatrice called and invited her and Erick to go boating on the lake.
She didn’t feel like going out, but Erick, who was excited because of this phone call, insisted on dragging her out.
When they arrived at the lakeside and saw Durian walking beside Beatrice, his face immediately turned cold.
After boarding the ship, Kendra found a seat and enjoyed the misty scenery on the lake.
Although Erick was sitting next to her, his eyes kept looking towards Beatrice beside him.
As I reached the middle of the river, it suddenly started pouring heavily from the sloy, with strong winds blowing incessantly, causing the small wooden raft to sway uncontrollably.
With thunder roaring and thick fog surrounding, before long, the increasingly fierce wind and rain flipped the small raft over, causing several people on board who were not wearing life jackets to fall into the water together.
Beatrice and Kendra couldn’t swim. Under the thrilling will to survive, the two of them struggled desperately, pulling at the edge of the raft.
After falling into the water, Darian’s first reaction was to paddle towards the shore, without even considering the others.
And in Erick’s eyes, there was only Beatrice.
He left Kendra, who was right beside him, and without thinking, swam to the other end of the raft and embraced Beatrice, who was about to drown.
The cold precipitation fell on Kendra, who was cold and weak. Her teeth chattered, and there was no trace of color on her face.
She watched helplessly as the two fading voices disappeared into the mist, feeling her consciousness becoming increasingly blurred.
The wind and waves never ceased, crashing wave after wave. She finally couldn’t hold on any longer, unable to grasp the only lifeline.
She let go of her hand and fell straight down to the bottom of the Lake
