Chapter 11
He pondered for a while and decided to go upstairs.
But Kendra was angry and going back empty–handed was clearly not a good choice.
So he went back to the villa and took the necklace that he had just recently bought.
Before leaving, he saw a box lying at the entrance and glanced at it hastily
The handwriting above looked familiar.
Where he had seen it before, he couldn’t remember.
It was almost twelve o’clock, and he didn’t have time to deal with these small matters, so he planned to come back and open them later.
After buying a bunch of midnight snacks that Kendra likes at the night market, he quietly returned to the rental house and took out the key to insert it
Spinning round and round, but the door wouldn’t open
The motion sensor light in the corridor would flicker on and off. He turned on the flashlight and only then did he see that the door lock had been changed.
Was she so angry this time?
Erick’s heart skipped a beat.
He raised his hand and gently knocked on the door, lowering his voice.
“Kendra, it’s me. Did you sleep? Can you please open the door? It’s too hot outside”
In the past, when he used to have a good time outside and lost track of time, he would come back in the middle of the night only to realize that he had lost his keys, and he would say these words.
But today it seems that giving in is useless.
No matter how many times he shouted, nobody came to open the door.
Erick had no choice but to knock on Landlord’s door next door
The landlord was fast asleep. It was her son who came to open the door. Upon hearing that he couldn’t get in, be groggily went to fetch the keys for him. He held the new key and easily opened the new lock.
The room was pitch black, so quiet that not even the sound of breathing could be heard, as if the person had already fallen asleep.
Erick was afraid of waking her up, so he didn’t on the lights and quietly walked in the dark.
He placed the midnight snack on the dining table, then proed into the bedroom and placed the necklace on the bedside table, ensuring ther she would see It first thing in the moming when she woke up
Then he walked up to the wardrobe and wanted to take out his pajamas to change into.
I mached out my hand, but the cabinet was empty, there was nothing inside.
Where are his clothes?
His brows furrowed instantly, and he quickly covered himself, tapping the screen of his pho
The dim light lit up, illuminating the empty wardrobe distinctly.
phone
Erick Instinctively turned around, wanting to ask Kendra, but saw that only the mattress remained on the bed two steps away
There were no blankets, and there was no one.
Until this moment, Erick finally realized that something was wrong
He quickly turned on the lights in the room, but the scene that appeared before his eyes left him completely stunned.
The wardrobe, the bed, the dressing table, and even the corners, were all empty.
The clothes and miscellaneous items that once occupied this tiny rental house have all disappeared without a trace.
Only the expensive necklace, which could afford a whole rented house, shone brightly under the dim lights.
So dazzling, yet so out of place.
