Chapter 6
Sienna picked up the phone and saw it was a call from her mother.
As soon as she answered, her mother’s angry voice came through. “Sienna, what’s going on online? Why are you spreading rumors at a time like this? The Baxter family canceled the meeting!”
Sienna weakly knelt by the entrance, softly saying, “Mom…
Her voice suddenly choked, and her nose felt stuffy as tears welled up.
Her mother’s voice immediately softened. “My dear, don’t cry. I am here! Our family isn’t easy to bully. Leave the press matters to me. I’ll make sure they shut down!”
Her mother’s concern immediately caused the usually independent and strong Sienna to soften. She covered her mouth and let out all the grievances she’d been holding in these past few days.
Her mother sighed. “It’s no use regretting it now. I’ll teach that bastard. Lewis a lesson, along with that woman!”
Sienna wiped her nose and tears. “Mom, don’t bother.
“It’s my fault. I didn’t see through this man. Anyway, I’ve already decided to proceed with the arranged marriage and immigration. Just forget about it.”
Her mother grew even more heartbroken for her. “My poor daughter…
She wanted to teach her a lesson but couldn’t bear to, only feeling sorrow.
Sienna asked about the progress of the paperwork before hanging up the

phone and falling into a deep sleep.
Lewis didn’t come home all night.
No call, no message.
By the time Sienna woke up, it was already noon.
She took out her phone to check, and all the rumors about her had disappeared.
During lunch, Lewis returned.
He was still wearing yesterday’s suit, with dark circles under his eyes, looking like he hadn’t slept all night.
He sat across from Sienna and explained in a low voice, “Listen to me Last night wasn’t intentional.
“My Tra… Tracy suddenly slipped. I panicked and pulled her into my arms, and accidentally…”
“No need to explain. I’ve already sent a lawyer’s letter.”
Sienna continued eating her lunch, ignoring Lewis‘ gaze.
“The company just signed an archaeological project with Tracy. She just returned here, and this kind of scandal can’t appear. Can I ask you to retract your complaint against the media and allow them to use your photos and videos to explain?”
A hint of sarcasm curled at the corner of Sienna’s mouth. She sneered. “Mr. Mcclure, I’m not your employee, and I’m under no obligation to cooperate with your publicity.”
Lewis frowned, slamming the soup he had just picked up back onto the table, staring at her coldly.

Chapter 6
“Are you jealous? I only left for a short time last night. She drank too much and almost got hurt. I had to stay with her. Besides… I didn’t do anything with her.”
Had she not seen it with her own eyes, she might have half–believed his words.
She might unconditionally trust him, just like before.
But not anymore. Sienna smiled as she said, “I’m not angry. You can handle things with her however you like, but don’t drag me into it,
understand?”
Lewis‘ eyes grew colder, and his voice turned frigid. “You used to be so obedient and sensible. Why… Sienna, please don’t disappoint me, okay?”
Sienna’s tone grew equally cold. “I have my principles and boundaries. I’m sorry to disappoint you, Mr. Mcclure.”
Lewis looked at her in confusion. He lit a cigar and took a deep puff.
He tried to calm himself, then pulled Sienna into his arms, softly coaxing, “Alright, don’t be angry. I’ll give you five million. Will you drop the lawsuit? Offending the media will affect the company’s stock price.”
As he spoke, he bit her ear and casually wrapped his arm around her
waist.
He had never intended to push things too far, and Sienna was about to nod in agreement to drop the lawsuit.
Just then, Lewis‘ phone rang.
He kept one arm around her and used the other to pull out the phone, answering in Spanish.
“Leon, what’s the matter?”
Chapter &
Leon mocked, “Did you calm the stand–in down? Did she agree to drop the lawsuit? The media are making Tracy cry while chasing after her for accountability.”
Lewis replied, “She’ll agree.”
A chuckling voice came from the other end. “Man, I really envy you having two girls. I’m seriously into Sienna now. Since your Tracy is back, let me satisfy my cravings with the stand–in.”
Sienna’s whole body stiffened for a moment. She expected Lewis to
refuse, but at the same time, she found this conversation utterly ridiculous.
Lewis tightened his hold on her shoulder and snapped, “Get lost!”
He was so close that Sienna heard it clearly.
From Lewis‘ ambiguous attitude earlier, she had thought this was a “project” by his company, but she hadn’t expected this so–called “publicity stunt” to be Tracy’s doing.
Was the kiss also part of her plan?
Sienna didn’t know, nor did she want to know.
She only felt uncomfortable, as though sitting on needles, her body stiff in his arms.
She wanted Lewis to let go.
Lewis hung up the phone, kissed her cheek, and urged, “Call the lawyer and tell them you’re dropping the lawsuit.”
Sienna broke free from his embrace and moved to sit farther away.
She pondered for a moment and then said, “I won’t drop it.”

Lewis‘ expression instantly darkened. He stood up and looked down at
her. “Can you stop making trouble? The company is losing, and this won’t benefit you either!”
“I’m not making trouble, you are! Why, when I’m being bullied outside, don’t you go after them but come to me with conditions? Why?”
Lewis stared at her coldly. After a long silence, he put on a disappointed.
expression.
“You’re really ugly like this.”
With that, he shoved the chair away forcefully. His neck flushed with anger as he stormed upstairs.
