Chapter 139
“Miss Sanders, after our last talk, I’ve felt so much better. Please come back soon–I have so much more to share with you.
you.”
“Miss Sanders, thank you for passing my paper to my idol! She even replied to my email.”
“Miss Sanders, everyone’s worried about you! Please come back!”
The heartfelt messages written on the sticky notes brought tears to Sarah’s eyes. Her vision blurred as she read each note, and had to wipe away the moisture at the corners of her eyes. Taking a deep breath, she unlocked the counseling office door.
Everything inside was just as she remembered. She noticed the broken safe had been returned to its original spot, now fully repaired.
Sitting down at her desk, Sarah powered on her computer and started working. The toxic posts that had flooded the forums before had been deleted, leaving the space restored to its original academic focus. It was clear that someone had deliberately cleaned things up.

Mrs. Chancer and Charlotte tood in front of the detention center door. A few minutes later, the door swung open, and Lucy
Chancer was escorted out by a police officer.
She was still wearing the same outfit from when she had been detained. Her hair hung limply over her shoulders, and her face.
was pale and gaunt. The moment she saw her mother, she flung herself into her arms.
“Mom! I’m finally out!”
“Lucy, my poor girl! Look at you, you’ve lost so much weight. You must’ve suffered terribly in there!” Mrs. Chancer held her daughter tightly, her voice filled with distress.
Charlotte quickly picked up Lucy’s belongings and urged, “Let’s get in the car first. We’ll talk on the way.
Once inside the car, Lucy couldn’t stop crying.
“Mom! It’s all that vile woman’s fault! You have to help me get revenge! Where’s my brother? Why didn’t he come to pick me
up?” she wailed uncontrollably.
Charlotte tried to soothe her. “Your brother had an urgent matter at work. He told me early this morning to come pick you up. He
really does care about you.”
“It’s all lies! I’ve been locked up for so many days, and he didn’t even come to see me once! I begged him to save me, left me to rot!” Lucy shrieked in anger.

her finger. As long as the Reynolds don’t want you released, there’s nothing he can do!”
“Mom, you have to help me get back at her! I never want to see Sarah Sanders again!”
“Alright, alright, just listen to me. I’ll figure something out,” Mrs. Chancer promised.
Lucy suddenly turned her gaze to Charlotte. “Charlotte, everything Sarah is doing is just to get my brother’s attention. She can’t let go of him. Aren’t you worried?”
Charlotte’s expression shifted, her emotions hard to read. “You think so?”
“Of course! You weren’t around back then, so you don’t know. She was obsessed with my brother, always clinging to him. Everything she’s doing now is calculated!” Lucy said with a sneer. “You should join forces with me. Together, we can deal with Sarah. I only recognize you as my brother’s wife.”
Charlotte’s lips curved into a smile. “You’ve always been like a sister to me, Lucy. Of course, I trust you.”
Back at home, Lucy grabbed her phone. During her detention, she had been plagued by anxiety over what people might be saying about her. Now, she finally had the chance to see for herself.
“Who knew she was such a vile person? And to think she’s the Chancer family’s daughter! What a disgrace!”
“Exactly! She’s a stain on East Coast’s reputation!”
“You don’t even know the half of it. She’s been a bully at school for ages–picking on others and even trying to frame her
teachers.”
“Lies!” Lucy screamed, her voice piercing the room. She hurled her phone against the wall with all her strength, and the device
shattered into pieces, fragments scattering across the floor.
