“You’re the stupid one! Your family is made up of idiots! Lucy, how dare you talk to me like that?”
Lucy was stunned. She’d seen Mia acting like an idiot, hiding timidly behind Sarah last time.
“You, last time you were…”
“Last time what?” Sarah pushed open the door and stepped in front of Mia, blocking Lucy’s view.
Lucy stumbled back in shock, pointing at Mia. “This isn’t right! She was clearly mentally ill before. I saw it! Or was it all an act?”
“Lucy, you never learn, do you? Mia’s situation is none of your business. Next time, think about whether your family can afford
the consequences before you act,” Sarah said coldly.
She’d thought the competition incident would have taught Lucy a lesson, but apparently being detained hadn’t cleared her head.
Zachary wasn’t someone who turned the other cheek, and Mia wasn’t just any student she could bully. Lucy had miscalculated
again.
Lucy wasn’t used to being talked to this way. “Sarah, what are you so proud of? You only got close to Zachary by seducing him! You’re the reason we didn’t get invited to his birthday, aren’t you?”
Sarah laughed bitterly. “Lucy, you’re truly foolish. You slandered his sister – why would he invite you?!
“Impossible! Every prominent East Coast family knows to maintain good relationships. He only hates me because of you!” Lucy’s eyes blazed with anger.
Mia tugged Sarah’s hand and spoke up. “My brother already told me he’d never invite your family. I asked for that myself. If you have a problem, take it up with me!”
Lucy was speechless, raising her hand to strike.
“I dare you to try,” Mia glared at Lucy. “Lucy, I warn you – we haven’t settled last time’s score, and here you are causing trouble again!”
Lucy lowered her hand, intimidated into silence. “You…”
“Let’s go,” Sarah took Mia’s hand and left.
Lucy watched them leave in disbelief, not daring to follow.
She remembered her brother’s words about the trouble she’d caused their family.
She couldn’t cause more problems for the Chancers – at least not so openly.
Sanderson Plaza sold the world’s most prestigious brands. Beyond jewelry, it was famous for its exclusive designer boutiques.
Mia took Sarah to the fourth floor – a restricted level that, like Hermès’s allocation system, required substantial spending on the

lower floors to access.
They entered Moran’s, an Italian luxury designer boutique known for its distinctive high–end designs.
The glass displays showcased Moran’s classic pieces, especially coveted recent collections. But not everyone could access Moran’s haute couture.
The brand chose its clients as carefully as clients chose their dresses.
The manager led them to a VIP fitting room, serving premium refreshments.
“Miss Reynolds, would you like to see Moran’s latest designs?”
“Yes, please,” Mia smiled.
