Chapter 20
Lucas‘ POV
“Did you lie to me?” I put down my mobile and asked Josephine in the
car.
On the screen of my phone, there was a video clip reeling. I saw it clearly. Josephine jumped into the swimming pool by herself. Leah didn’t push her.
This piece of video was posted on Twitter by a man named Darren_S. Apparently, this Darren guy witnessed the whole process of the farce and videotaped it before posting the entire uncutted version online.
Josephine sat next to me in my car. Her once–beautiful features twisted with despair when she took a glance at the video clip online.
People swarmed at this video and cursed Josephine in all kinds of languages.
Being a low profiled person, I hated exposure like this.
“Are you accusing me of lying?” She played innocent again. But I no longer believed her.
“Did you?” I asked. My voice was stern and unforgiving.
Josephine was speechless, turning her head away from me to avoid eye
contact.
“How could you do this?” I asked. My voice was dripping with anger. “You framed an innocent girl just to save your own skin. You’ve been
abusing Leah this whole time, and all for what? Just so you could feel better about yourself?”
Josephine still didn’t say a word.
“Say something!” I raised my voice.
I had never ever raised my voice in front of her.
I wasn’t mad at her. I was mad at myself. I shouldn’t have been so ignorant.
It was me who let this happen to Leah.
“I didn’t mean to hurt anyone,” Josephine pleaded, tears welling up in her eyes while she was looking at me. “I was just so angry and… lost. I was consumed by the loss of Basil. I didn’t know what else to do.”
“Stop mentioning Basil to me!” I yelled at her. “I’m sick of it! People lose. their beloved ones all the time, but you don’t see them relieve their pain by making other people’s lives miserable! There’s no excuse for what you’ve done to Leah! There’s no excuse for what you’ve done to me!”
Josephine looked hurt. Tears started rolling down her cheeks.
“She’s nothing! She’s just a poor omega! She’s supposed to wash other people’s clothes for a living! But all of a sudden, she’s got everything! That’s not fair!”
“Life isn’t a fair game, Josephine. And Leah is my mate! You have not right to abuse her like that!”
“But you don’t love her! You love me! You wanted to marry me! I’ve done everything just because I love you! If that’s a sin, then punish me!” Josephine wailed.

I sighed and rubbed my temples.
“Josephine, listen.” I said firmly. “I know nothing about love, but I’m sure love doesn’t make people do crazy things like what you’ve done to Leah. Asking for her blood?! Do you think I’m a fool?!”
Josephine’s eyes narrowed as she clenched her teeth. I saw the dark gleam in her eyes and I knew she still didn’t realize what she had done was a terrible thing.
I cleared my voice and said, “Your actions had caused irreparable damage. I should have executed you in front of the pack. But because I have made a promise to Basil, I won’t kill you. You will be exiled today. You’re permanently banished from my pack.”
“But… But that will make me a rouge! I can’t survive as a rouge! How am I supposed to make a living?! You can’t do this to me, Luke!” Josephine exclaimed.
“Yes, I can. And I’m doing it right now because I’m the Alpha of the pack and you’re now officially declared a rogue. Jorah, stop the car.” I said to the driver and my Beta.
Jorah pulled the car to the side of the road.
Josephine, weeping and trembling, had no other choice but obeyed me by opening the door and getting out of my car.
I closed the door and tapped Jorah’s seat.
The car started moving forward.
I didn’t look back.
Leah had been putting up with her lame excuses and devious deeds for five precious years of her life. She did this because of her love and

devotion to me as my wife.
And I made myself a fool by rejecting her.
Now she becomes the date of Alpha Lucian, and he’s the son of the Lycan
King.
Is she going to sleep with him?
Is she going to get married to him?!
No. That’s not going to happen. Prince or not, I will have to win my Leah
back.
I took a glance at Jorah in the rearing mirror and saw the contemplating look on Jorah’s face.
“What’s on your mind, Jorah?” I asked.
“As your driver and Beta, where you’re heading is always on my mind. Alpha” he replied.
“Do you think I’ve made a cruel decision by letting Josephine go like
that?”
“Oh, no, Alpha,” Jorah shook his head. “Excuse my French here, but she’s a bitch. And I’m more than happy that she’s gone now. Come to my company and help me around, Leah. You’ve always wanted to become a successful bussinesswoman, so now it’s time to realize your dream.”
