Chapter 12 Bianca’s Plan Backfires
Bianca suppressed the frustration in her eyes and spoke in a soft and gentle tone. “The chefs at home are all professional experts. Their cooking is more than precise.
“Perhaps Liliana isn’t used to the taste, which is why she thinks it’s off. she added.
Her implication was a subtle mockery, suggesting that Lenora had never tasted anything good and was just complaining mindlessly.
“The escargot does indeed have a strange aftertaste,” said Seth.
To everyone’s surprise. he put down his fork and knife, his face turning displeased.
Seth was known for being picky about food.
If he said something was bad, it definitely was.
The others, having heard that, also tasted the escargot and agreed with Seth
“The taste is indeed different from before.”
“This dish isn’t good. Take it away.” Seth concluded
Cecilia chewed the escargot slowly, trying to analyze the problem “It’s as if it has… it has…”
After a long pause, she still couldn’t figure it out, so Lenora calmly suggested, “It’s the taste of parsley. The traditional escargot doesn’t have

parsley.”
“Exactly!” Cecilia’s eyes lit up. “It’s the parsley that made the escargot taste weird.”
She had struggled to identify the flavor, but Lenora figured it out effortlessly.
Everyone agreed with Lenora’s observation, which only infuriated Bianca further.
“This brat is just making things up to show off, and yet these people are lying just to support her,” she thought.
“What nonsense about parsley! How could I not know it?”
If that was the case, she would no longer hold back anymore.
Bianca slammed the table. “It’s Liliana’s first day here and the kitchen.
staff dares to treat her like this.
“Gary, go call the head chef who made this dish and have him apologize to Liliana.”
The head chef, Robert Landry, was a cuisine genius. Yet he didn’t seem to know the ways of the world.
He would never lie just to please Lenora, and they would confront each other. Bianca was more than eager to see how Lenora would get out of this.
Soon, Robert stormed out, holding a large spatula. “Who said there’s a problem with this dish?”
His tone was so harsh that even Seth frowned. Both Xander and Cecilia looked displeased.
How dare he raise his voice at their family!
As the person involved, Lenora remained calm and collected. She tucked the loose strands of hair behind her car and said, “It was me.”
Seeing that she was the one from overseas, Robert became even more arrogant, his tone certain.
“I made the dish personally, and neither the utensils nor the ingredients have come into contact with parsley. You must have mistaken the taste.”
“I didn’t taste any parsley,” Bianca chimed in proudly.
Lenora glanced at her, silently understanding her intentions. She then slowly poured herself a glass of wine.
“Did you use white wine to season this dish?”
“Yes,” Robert nodded.
That was his special secret recipe, using white wine in the cooking to make the escargot sweeter and more tender.
“Then, was there any parsley in the refrigerator where the white wine was stored?”
With just a casual question, Robert was left speechless.
He could only guarantee that there was no parsley in the escargot ingredients and utensils, but he had neglected the fridge for the white
wine.
Before Lenora could ask Gary to investigate, he had already brought in the maid who managed the white wine fridge.
The maid kept apologizing, “I was too busy cooking this morning and

accidentally left parsley in the wine fridge for a few minutes.
“I didn’t think such a short time would matter, but it seems the young lady noticed it.”
Robert was left overwhelmed.
He hadn’t expected Lenora’s taste to be sharper than his.
Not only did she identify the flavor mismatch, but she also pinpointed the source of the problem.

With such a talent, if she became a chef, she would undoubtedly be a world–class one.
“Liliana, your sense of taste is incredible!” Cecilia said, impressed. “I didn’t notice the issue at first, but after you pointed it out, I could taste the difference.”
Lenora smiled slightly, her gaze turning toward Seth and she took the opportunity to flatter him, “Perhaps it’s because I take after you, Grandpa, and have high standards for food.”
Seth stroked his beard and gave Lenora a thumbs–up. “That’s my
granddaughter. You do take after me. You know how to eat well! I’ll take you out for meals in the future.”
He then turned his gaze to Robert, his eyes suddenly showing impatience.
“You can’t even spot such a small issue? Don’t bother coming tomorrow. Gary will find a new chef.”
How dare the chef speak to his granddaughter like that!
In this family, whatever his granddaughter said would go, regardless of right or wrong!

Robert lost his job for his own neglect, so he could only leave in disgrace.
Only Bianca was dumbfounded, never expecting that Lenora would truly be able to appreciate the local cuisine!
Thinking about her earlier denial, Bianca suddenly felt embarrassed.
Everyone else had figured it out, but she hadn’t.
Didn’t that make it seem like she was the only one who couldn’t tell the difference?
She lowered her head and silently continued eating, planning to act as though nothing had happened.
Lenora wasn’t going to let her get away. She sneered. “Bianca, you should read more books about the local cuisine, so you don’t get tricked when dining out.”
“I got it, thank you,” Bianca gritted her teeth, forcefully scraping her knife across her plate.
She turned the situation around, only to end up making a fool out of herself.
Sensing the tension between the two, Cecilia tried to ease the atmosphere. “Liliana, how do you know so much?”
“When I was in college, I worked as a waitress in a restaurant to earn my tuition,” Lenora replied.
At that time, she had been accepted into the top university at home. Larry tried to pressure her into changing her major so she could attend the same school as Melany. Thus, he refused to pay anything for her.
In order to change her fate and go to her dream college, Lenora worked

tirelessly to earn money. She tried all kinds of exhausting jobs as long as they were good money.
Since the restaurant paid well, she worked there for two years as a part- time job, and through constant exposure, she learned all of this.
This made both Xander and Cecilia feel heartbroken..
The little princess who should have been pampered and spoiled had to endure so much hardship.
In his heart, Xander silently made a vow.
He would make sure to make up for it and pamper his precious one in the future.
After finishing the meal, Lenora went upstairs to rest. Lying on the soft bed, she felt an unprecedented sense of calm and slowly closed her eyes.
In the country, at the ob–gyn hospital.
When Melany learned that Lenora had encountered difficulties, she laughed with joy. “Best news ever!”
Now, the biggest obstacle had been removed. All she needed to do was use the baby in her belly to secure her position!
“Lenora, oh Lenora,” Melany said as she slowly got out of bed. Looking through the window at the bustling night scene, she revealed a smug
smile.
“You are more than just a blood bag.”
In the past, she could donate blood for her and take beatings on her behalf. Now, she could give her a husband, allowing her to enjoy wealth and honor.
