Chapter 21
Leah’s POV
A few days later, I went to my brother’s company UniHealer. His Betal Jalin had prepared a room on the top floor to be my new office.
After stepping out of the private elevator, I saw the entire landscape of our city in front of me through the giant top–to–floor window.
“Welcome back, Leah,” Beta Jalin, who had been waiting for me next to the elevator door, said with a big smile on his face.
“Jalin! I miss you so much!” I wrapped my arms around his neck and said.
He was three years older than Lucian and he used to babysit me all the time when I was a child. Later, he became my mentor and best friend.
“So, do you like it?” He showed me around my office.
I ran around in the spacious office like a little lark and said, “This is beautiful! When Lucian told me that you’d prepared me a room, I thought it was a cubicle. I hadn’t expected an entire floor!”
“Great!” Jalin caught me like he was catching a rabbit and put me in the chair. “Now stop bouncing around and get to business. I’ve got lots of figures to brief you on. A lot of things happened in the past five years.”
Then, I was sitting there like the little girl I used to be while Jalin was demonstrating figures on the giant screen. He didn’t change a bit, but I was no longer a little girl.
Everything felt the same, but nothing was the same.

After the briefing, Lucian decided to take me to his favorite restaurant to celebrate my return.
I didn’t understand why he would pay 80,000 dollars for raw fish, but it certainly pleased His Highness.
The light in the restaurant was soft and muted, with dimly lit lantern lamps casting a warm glow throughout the space. There was a small traditional garden located in the center of the lounge with a small koi pond and a waterfall, providing a peaceful and tranquil ambiance for the diners.
Everything looked expensive.
“Has Jalin shown you our figures during the briefing?” He looked at me and asked.
“Yes. All the lines are pointing up, so it looks good.” I replied.
“But?” Lucian asked.
“But I could see some potential risks in the Mediland market. The rogues. are getting increasingly active these days. A safe, steady political environment is the prerequisite for our business,” I said.
Mediland was an artificial island attached to the mainland, which was located right at our border.
It was considered the land of opportunity because construction work was going on on that island all the time.
Since I had already decided to come back to my brother’s company, UniHealer, to help him around, I wanted to help him to explore our business market in the North. Another reason for me to choose Mediland as my target market was to promote peace around the borderline area.

“Don’t worry about it. Alpha Dire of the Rock Growlers Pack will good take care of it.” Lucas said in a nonchalant voice.
I understood his confidence. After all, Alpha Dire was the strongest supporter of my Father, the Lycan King. My Father trusted him, and that was why he was assigned to the northern border to protect the integrity of our land against the rogues.
“Leah, don’t get me wrong. You have all my unconditional trust and support to do things your way. All you need to do is to tell me, what can I do to help you?” Lucian said.
“I need to conduct more research before coming up with a detailed plan in Mediland. Then, I can present it at the Board Meeting, in which you will introduce me to all the board members. Do you have someone that might help me? Someone who’s resourceful and knows his way around with the rogues?” I asked.
“Sure. Gean Lee will sort out everything for you,” my brother said.
“Great!” I said with a giant smile on my face. Gean Lee was really a capable man. Without him, I couldn’t possibly rescue Lucas‘ sister Clara from a foreign police station.
“But wait a minute… Does he work for Lycidas?” I asked with hesitation.
“Come on, Leah,” Lucian said in a monotone voice. “I’m the Lycan Prince and everyone in this Kingdom is working for me. Gean Lee is experienced with the rogues, so he’s at your disposal.”
At that time, I heard the waitress‘ voice from outside.
“Sorry, Miss. You can’t go in. This is a private lounge.”
“Beat it, human woman! Who are you to block my way like this? I just

want to talk to a friend.” A woman’s high–pitched voice broke the tranquil ambiance of the restaurant.
I recognized that voice as well. It was the voice of Lucas‘ younger sister, Clara. And she was drunk at 11:45 in the morning.
The door was pushed open and Clara staggered into the room like a rolling pumpkin that was looking for its balance.
She used to weigh about 150 pounds the last time I saw her. And now she looked almost twice the size.
Limping all the way into the room, she tripped over her own feet and fell to the floor. Rolling like a giant meatball on the floor, she mumbled, “I’m fine… I just want to talk to…”
My brother’s Beta, Jalin, followed Clara and walked into the VIP lounge. After sending away the stuff in the restaurant, he bowed to my brother and said, “Alpha, I’m sincerely sorry. I was on a smoke break and the soldiers couldn’t stop her because she’s Alpha Lucas‘ sister. I will remove her from the room right now.”
“No, let her stay,” I said. “If she wants to talk to me, let her stay and talk.”
After getting a slight nod from my brother, Jalin took a bow and left the room reluctantly.
As soon as Clara bounced back from the floor like a pumped–up balloon, she took a deep bow and said, “Alpha Lucian, Your Highness… I saw your car outside and that’s why I wanted to come by and pay my
respect…”
“As you were,” my brother frowned and said.
Then, she saw me, who was sitting next to Lucian.

“You!” She charged in front of me, pointing her finger at my nose. “You bitch! How could a filthy little whore like you show up here in a high–end restaurant like this?! You’ve posted my gambling video online and accused me of stealing my mother’s jewelry! I’m going to kill you!”
