Chapter 27 Apology
Cecilia wrapped her arm around Lenora’s shoulders and explained in at low voice. “The house in the suburbs was burglarized last night, so
Bianca got to come back.”
Lenora didn’t buy it.
She thought that the burglary was only a trick Bianca had played.
“Don’t worry. Your grandpa will take away her bonus and allowances for the next year and transfer them to you,” Cecilia added and looked at Lenora, worried that Lenora would think the whole family was on
Bianca’s side.
“Mom, I get it.” Lenora said and held Cecilia’s hand.
They were family, so Lenora wouldn’t go too far.
Since she had no problem with it, Rodney’s face softened, and he asked. how her day had been.
“You can stay in the headquarters. Why did you insist on working at the division?
“I happen to know someone there. You can ask for his help if you need it,” Rodney said with a kind look.
Lenora fell silent.
According to Xander’s investigation, Rodney didn’t seem to know anything Johnny had done at the division.
But was that real?
Lenora blinked and concealed her true feelings. “Thank you, Rodney. I will tell you if I need your help.”
Rodney laughed.
After the conversation, Lenora went to the study with Xander.
He looked at her with a loving face and stroked her hair. “Jaron told me what had happened in the meeting.

Lenora was caught by surprise.
She looked at Xander’s serious face, tears stinging her eyes.
None of her previous family had apologized to her for their wrongdoings. Sometimes, they even blamed her for something she hadn’t done.
But just now, her birth dad apologized to her.
“Dad, you don’t have to apologize to me. You did nothing wrong.”
Lenora struggled to hold back tears.

Xander noticed that, so he gathered her in his arms while feeling sorry for her.
“I didn’t trust my baby girl. I was wrong.
“I will trust you no matter what happens,” he said with sincerity.
Touched, Lenora nodded and forgave him.
Eavesdropping at the door, Cecilia wiped the tears from the corners of her
eyes.
The next day.
Lenora asked for half a day off and went to the hospital with a fruit
basket.
When she got to the door of Randall’s ward, she saw him working in hist
bed.
“Mr. Hart.”
Lenora strode over and put the fruit basket on the table.
Hearing that, Randall looked up and paused.
“Why are you here?
“It’s no big deal that I saved you. You don’t need to repay me.”
Lenora didn’t expect him to say that, and the smile on her face became
twisted.
Her feeling was right. He didn’t like her.
According to what he had said, he wanted nothing to do with her and wast afraid that she would use what he had done for her as an excuse to get
close to him.
“Anyway, you were hospitalized because of me, so I need to visit you.
“I’m wondering why you don’t like me. Did I offend you?”
They’d only met a few times, and she didn’t remember she had done anything to offend him. She couldn’t understand it, so she cut to the chase.

Randall looked surprised to hear that.
“Ms Finley, it’s not like what you think. I have no problem with you. I’m just not used to being close to women,” he explained with an unnatural
look.
He was indifferent to women all the time, but it was the first time a woman had asked him about the reason directly.
His words softened Lenora’s face.
Before she came, she looked into him and found that he was an aloof man who had no rumored girlfriend.
Thus, she knew that Randall’s words were probably true and didn’t feel
angry anymore.
“Thanks for your explanation. I owe you 2 favors.
“Feel free to tell me if you need my help. I’ll do my best to pay you back.” Lenora said and took a pen and a notebook out of her purse.
Then, she wrote 2 IOUS and handed them to Randall seriously.
An IOU meant a favor.
It was unexpected, so Randall didn’t know what to do with the IOUS.
But her serious face told him that she did think that he would need her help.
He was amused and smiled despite himself.
Lenora didn’t see it coming.
When she realized what the smile could mean, she said with a grim face,

“I may not be able to help you now. But I will be your equal someday,
“Then. I will be able to help you.”
The Velez Group became so powerful because of her leadership.
With a better platform now, she would make something of herself.
Then, she would be at the top like the Hart family did.

Randall didn’t take the IOUS seriously at the beginning.
However, her seriousness changed his mind, and he put them in a safe place in front of her.
A smile touched Lenora’s face.
“By the way, Randall, I made soup for you. You have to taste it.”
Lenora opened the food container she had brought and poured some soup
out.
The way she called him had just changed. He arched his brows but didn’t.
