Every time, he would hide by the fountain and pray for the hamster he had raised last year, which had died.
She didn’t know where her son had learned this, but every time they came, he would pray sincerely.
Derek picked up Ambrose. “You’ve scared us to death!”
Ambrose looked confused. “Scared? Why?”
He was just praying for his “good friend.”
Seeing Derek carrying his nephew back, Mabel burst into tears. “Ambi, you scared me to death!”
She hugged Ambrose and wiped away her tears.
What she hadn’t said was that she had just wanted to take a selfie at the Ferris wheel. That was when Ambrose went missing.
She hadn’t dared to tell Seymour when she called. Now that everything was fine, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of lingering fear.
What if Ambrose told Sey? Would Seymour despise her from then on and never let her get close to Ambrose again?
She looked at Ambrose pitifully “Ambi, can you not tell your dad that Auntie was just taking a picture? If he finds out, he’ll scold Auntie and never let me play with you again.”
Ambrose didn’t understand what she was saying, but he understood that his dad would be angry.
“Sure, Auntie. Ambi loves playing with you! Playing with you at the amusement park is way more fun than with Mommy!”
Mabel bought him snacks, and although she repeatedly asked if he was allergie, it was still better than being with Mommy.
Mommy never allowed him to have any snacks!
Mom was such a buzzkill!
“Don’t worry, Auntie. I won’t tell Daddy!”
“Won’t tell me what?” Seymour asked in a deep voice, staring at his son.
Mabel suddenly stood up, her fingers gripping the hem of her clothes. “Sey, you’re here.”
“Yep.” Seymour simply said.
He stared seriously at Ambrose. “Ambrose, hasn’t your mother taught you not to run around carelessly when you go out to play?”
It was lucky they found him today. What if it happened again next time?
He shot a glare at Derek, blaming him in silence.
Derek touched his nose, not daring to speak.
Usually, Felicia would never let Ambrose out of her sight.
Unless Felicia went to the restroom, she would always tightly hold Ambrose’s hand.
It was his carelessness, forgetting that today it wasn’t Felicia who took Ambrose out.
But Mabel was just too careless!
Mabel was afraid Ambrose might say something inappropriate, so she immediately smoothed things over. “Sey, I’m sorry. I wasn’t paying attention. Ambi has already apologized. Please don’t blame him. If you must, blame me.”
As she spoke, Mabel’s eyes turned red.
Seymour felt a headache coming on, but it was a nice day, so he didn’t want to ruin the fun.
He could only give a warning look to Derek. “Alright, you two go ahead and play. Mike will come here soon. If you two make another mistake, you can resign tomorrow!”
Seymour still had to return to the company, so he didn’t stay for long.
Mabel finally sighed in relief, and Ambrose bounced happily, holding Mabel’s hand, and ran off to the next attraction.
On the way back to the company, Seymour was drowned in thoughts.
He didn’t expect Felicia to be so ruthless.
The last time his son had an allergic reaction, he didn’t argue with her, considering she had not yet been discharged from the hospital.
But now? Did his son become so unimportant to her?
He wouldn’t visit her tomorrow as planned!
“Freeze Mrs. Lucero’s supplementary card.”
Felicia’s shopping app was always connected to the secondary card that Seymour provided.
Normally, she bought most items online for her son. Now, with Minerva, she had changed her shopping recommendations to focus on mother and
baby products.
Seymour was the father of the children, and she felt justified in spending
his money.
Even if she decided to divorce, her husband would still need to bear his share of the necessary expenses.
But today, when she saw diapers on sale and wanted to buy a larger quantity in one go, she received a message saying the transaction failed at checkout.
Felicia was confused; this was the first time she had seen such a message.
She thought the card might have reached its limit, so she tried paying with a smaller amount of a few dozen dollars, but the transaction still failed.
Felicia then suspected the platform might be having issues, so she used her own bank card to pay, and it worked immediately.
Then she sneered, realizing exactly what was going on.
The only explanation was that Seymour had frozen her card.
Was he angry because she embarrassed him?
Felicia quickly unlinked all of Seymour’s secondary cards.
She had been a full–time housewife for six years and didn’t have her family’s support, but that didn’t mean she didn’t have her own savings.
