“What time do you get off? Let’s grab a drink after work.”
Seymour glanced at his watch. “Not today. Ambi asked me to pick him up after school. I need to read picture books with him tonight.”
“Read what?” Roger had never heard of this term.
Seymour sighed softly. Since Felicia wasn’t home, she didn’t even check. the messages in their son’s class group chat. Last time, Ambrose came home crying because he was the only kid in class who didn’t finish his homework. That was when Seymour learned that the kids‘ homework was assigned in the group chat.
Seymour joined the kindergarten class group chat for the first time and saw the teacher tagging everyone to assign reading homework with picture books.
Yvonne couldn’t help Ambrose with it, and Felicia was away recovering from childbirth. The only one left to help Ambrose was himself.
Roger was speechless. He once again felt Felicia was terrible.
Her heartless departure forced Seymour to spend time on Ambrose. Roger always thought that no grown man should have to deal with kids‘
homework.
After hesitating for a while, Roger decided to speak up, “Sey, have you ever thought about divorcing Felicia?”
Before Edwina came back to her house, she told Roger and Mabel not to inform their father about what Felicia had mentioned that day.

“Licia’s issues are not minor,” Esteban said seriously. “Family harmony is. yery important. I don’t want any more disagreements among you siblings.”
Years ago, Esteban’s father, Hunter Pruitt, had two sons, the older one being Esteban and the younger one Tyrone. The brothers fought over the company’s shares, and in the end, Esteban got Pruitt Pharmaceuticals, but the company was significantly damaged in the power struggle.
Therefore, such family disputes could not happen again.
Additionally, Esteban could not afford to lose Seymour.
“Dad. I forgot to tell you some good news. Sey mentioned that at the end of the month, there’s a party celebrating Sir Galvan’s granddaughter’s school progress, and Sey will get us two invitations. Ambrose began to miss Felicia again.
Reading a picture book with his dad was unbearable. Every time Seymour pressed his lips together. Ambrose would tremble with fear, dreading that the next words from him would be a reprimand.
The entire experience was stressful, and it was just frightening.
His mom would never be as strict as his dad.

Ambrose pouted. But his mom didn’t come home!
Seymour frowned. “Ambrose, are you daydreaming again? Is every task the teacher gives you so hard to finish?”
Seymour realized that reading with his son was such a hassle.
He would rather attend ten international meetings than sit here watching Ambrose.
Both Seymour and Ambrose couldn’t help but think of Felicia. At that moment, she was coaxing her daughter.
“Mina, look at this big gold pendant. It’s a present from Mr. Galvan. And this bracelet is from Mr. Jackson. Do you like them?”
Felicia looked at the list of names given by Eugene and Darrick, mostly their students. She hadn’t invited any of her friends or relatives.
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to, but she thought it was unnecessary.

Whenever Minerva was hungry, she would smack her lips, which was very cute.
“Mina, please bless Mommy so she can have a peaceful month without any disturbances for the next fifteen days, okay?”
Minerva blinked at Felicia as if she understood it, which immediately made Felicia feel a deep affection.
