Yvonne tried her best to suppress her panic and replied with a smile. “No. I don’t know her.”
Veronica didn’t think too much. She took back her phone and suddenly asked. “By the way, Mrs. Lucero, what’s your granddaughter’s name?”
Yvonne instantly became nervous and didn’t know how to reply. Just at this time, Seymour and Ambrose came back.
“Grandma! Mrs. Balchin, Mrs. Aykroyd, you’re all here!” Ambrose exclaimed.
When Pamela and Veronica saw Ambrose, they all beamed.
“Look at you, Ambi. You’ve grown taller, haven’t you? But you also look thinner. We know your mom just gave birth to a new baby, but is that why you didn’t eat well these days?”
These were just some casual words, but Ambrose took it seriously, and he replied with a solemn face, “Mrs. Balchin, Mrs. Aykroyd, I don’t like
Mom anymore!”
Pamela and Veronica were stunned. They exchanged a glance and didn’t know what to say now. Seeing this, Yvonne immediately chimed in, “Ambi, go upstairs to wash your hands first.”
Seymour nodded slightly at Pamela and Veronica and then took Ambrose upstairs.
Then, Yvonne said to Pamela and Veronica, “Well, he’s just a kid. Don’t take his words seriously.”
Pamela and Veronica chuckled and nodded. “Yeah. Ambi is only five years old. Maybe he’s just angry with his mom for being too strict with him.”
Seymour held Ambrose’s hand and didn’t scold him, which was quite rare. But it was not that he forgot it. It was just that he wasn’t in the mood and was still thinking about the man at Felicia’s house that day.
Ambrose shook Seymour’s hand and pouted, “Dad, if Mom doesn’t come. back. I’ll really not like her anymore!”
Seymour finally came back from his thoughts and glanced at Ambrose, saying lightly. “If you miss her, then call her yourself.”
Anyway, Seymour wouldn’t ask Felicia to come back anymore. He thought he was already being kind enough not to question her about that man from that day.
But Ambrose was different as he was still a five–year–old boy.
Ambrose was torn. But still, with a frown, he shouted, “I don’t miss Mom!”
His voice was loud, but he didn’t sound very confident.
He added. “Dad, do you think I should call Mom?”
Felicia took Minerva back to her apartment at three in the afternoon. After breastfeeding the baby, she lay down on the bed with her.
Although she only went out for a bit, she still felt tired.
When taking a nap, Felicia often set her phone in silent mode, afraid that harassing calls would wake Minerva up.
Before, when she was in the Lucero’s villa, she had to keep her phone on 24 hours a day.
When she picked up her phone from the table and saw ten missed calls from Ambrose, she somehow panicked a bit.
As she walked out, she quickly dialed Ambrose’s number, but Ambrose didn’t answer her call.
Felicia took a deep breath and then called Seymour.
Seymour’s deep voice soon came through. “Hello?”
“What happened to Ambi?” Felicia asked hurriedly.
Seymour kept silent for a moment and then let out a faint sneer. “Felicia,
is this one of your tricks again? Using Ambi as your excuse to initiate a talk with me?”
