Chapter 7
Harley didn’t hesitate and spoke decisively, “Professor Galvan, I want to study with you.”
“I had no family left, so I didn’t need to contact them either.”
Davion and Harold were both stunned for a moment, clearly not expecting Harley to say that.
“Sorry, teacher didn’t expect your home situation to be like this.”
A hint of apology appeared on Davion’s face, while Harley nonchalantly shook his head.
“It’s okay, I had already adapted.”
So many years have passed, and she had long forgotten the pain of her parents‘ passing.
Davion opened the drawer and handed her a badge.
“Alright, welcome to our research team. In the future, we will work together.”
The letter being torn apart was definitely not a coincidence.
Joaquin calmed down and looked at the torn envelope in front of him, lost in thought.
After Harley left, there was only one person at home until he returned, Myra.
Could it be her who did it? But why on earth would she do that?

Before Joaquin could even think, a sudden sound came from outside the house.
The heavy footsteps, it didn’t sound like Harley or Myra’s.
Joaquin slowly approached the entrance, holding a stick in his hand, ready to strike at any moment.
As the footsteps approached. Joaquin took a step ahead and opened the door, coming face to face with a familiar yet unfamiliar face.
He was a man who went to the countryside at the same time as him, but this time he didn’t manage to secure a spot to go back.
Joaquin remembered that he was stared at for a long time by this person with an unkind gaze.
The moment he saw Joaquin, the man visibly froze, taking a few seconds. to react before fleeing like a mouse running away from a cat.
Although Joaquin didn’t understand why the man ran away when he saw him, he had a feeling that the man must be hiding something from him.
Joaquin caught up and tackled the man to the ground.
“Why were you here?”
The man looked somewhat nervous, and his eyes unconsciously glanced
around.
“Why are you still here? You shouldn’t have left, right?”
Joaquin was not interrupted by the man’s words and continued to insist on asking the previous question.
“You answer my question first, what did you house for?”

The man looked embarrassed and hesitated as he answered.
“I… I just came to see if you had left, and wanted to bring you something.”
“It’s you, if you didn’t want to go back to the city, you should have given the spot to me.”
After saying this, the man seemed to regain a certain kind of confidence, and his tone unconsciously became much stronger.
Joaquin furrowed his brow and his eyes were filled with scrutiny.
“Is that so? You wanted to give me something, then how did you come empty–handed?”
The man’s face turned red as he defended himself.
“Can’t I put the things outside?”
“Stop making excuses, your eyes clearly showed some guilt, what is your real intention?”
The man struggled twice, but Joaquin’s strength was greater than his, and he couldn’t break free from Joaquin’s restraint.
Unfortunately, he had no choice but to grit his teeth and shout at Joaquin.
“Let go of me, there are still five minutes. still want to go back.”
You don’t want to go back, but I
Joaquin did not compromise, but instead deliberately provoked the man.
“I won’t let go unless you say so. Anyway, there will be another chance, and I will definitely go back before you.”
As he had expected, the man was indeed provoked, with veins bulging on his forehead and a grimacing expression.
Why should the quola be given to you first just because you are a university professor? Clearly, I worked harder than you when we were laboring.
The man suddenly took out a bottle from his pocket and splashed the liquid inside onto Joaquin. Fortunately, Joaquin was prepared in advance, and only a little bit of it got on his sleeve.
Joaquin was taken aback as he looked at the corroded cuffs.
“Was this sulfuric acid?”
The man did not answer, but instead gritted his teeth and stared at Joaquin.
“You managed to dodge me again.”
“Last time, I drugged you to tarnish your reputation, but I didn’t expect to be caught by your troublesome niece.”
“If it weren’t for her, you would have probably been locked up in a detention cell by now, and the spot for returning to the city would have
been mine.”
After hearing the man’s words, Joaquin’s face turned pale.
“What did you say? Earlier in the cowshed, it was you who drugged me?”
The man sneered.
What if it was me? Even if you knew, so what? You don’t have any evidence to report me.
Joaquin pursed his lips, feeling a bit complicated.
It turned out that he had taken the medicine himself. He misunderstood Harley, who had actually called Myra out of kindness.

Joaquin suddenly remembered what Harley had explained to him, but at that time, he simply refused to believe her words.
