Chapter 17
Harley had a dream.
In the dream, her parents did not unexpectedly pass away, and Joaquin did not stay at her house.
She grew up under the care of her parents, got into her dream school, met a simple young man, and stayed with him until old age.
Everything was so beautiful, but she always felt like she had forgotten something
What did you forget?
Harley pondered for a long time, only feeling a splitting headache and unable to remember anything.
Her husband in the dream came over and comforted her.
“Don’t think about it if you can’t remember, isn’t it fine the way it is now?”
Harley leaned against her husband’s shoulder, feeling somewhat uneasy for no apparent reason.
“It is good like this now, but I always feel that the things I have forgotten are very important.”
The husband embraced her shoulders, his tone carrying a hint of
inducement.
How could it be, something that can be forgotten, how could it be important? Listen, stop thinking about it, now is already good.
“Let’s have a meal first, they are all dishes you love, and you must be hungry too.”
Harley was about to speak when he caught a glimpse of the calendar on the table, and his face instantly turned pale.
She glanced at the clock on the wall again and saw that it was still early, so she slowly breathed a sigh of relief.
Today was the day they had agreed to leave. She still remembered Harold telling her earlier that they would depart at 12 o’clock noon. It was only 8 o’clock now, so she still had time to make it there.
Harley bypassed Joaquin and walked straight towards the door, but before her hand could touch the doorknob, her arm was grabbed by someone.
Joaquin’s voice was a bit hoarse.
“Where did you want to go?”
Harley struggled to break free from Joaquin’s grip, but for some reason, Joaquin held on tightly, and her wrists had already turned slightly red.
“Let go of me, I had an urgent matter. Whatever you want to say, wait for me to come back and then say it.”
Joaquin laughed bitterly.
“Will you come back again?”
“You probably won’t come back within the next five years after this time.”
Harley’s eyes narrowed, and she grabbed Joaquin’s collar from behind.
“What did you know?”
Joaquin seemed indifferent to Harley’s actions.

That day. I heard you talking to Harold.
Thinking about the confidentiality of the task. Harley immediately felt a surge of anger in his heart.
“Joaquin, don’t repeatedly challenge my bottom line.”
Joaquin ignored Harley’s words and continued speaking to himself.
“Do you know how harsh the environment of the desert was?”
The sky was filled with yellow sand, and due to its remote location, you might have only been able to eat dry steamed buns, conducting research day and night, and even facing life–threatening situations.
