Chapter 21
On Harley’s wedding day, Joaquin still went.
As Harley said, the wedding ceremony was kept simple. Only a few tables were set up at home, and close friends and family were invited to have a meal.
Joaquin did not go in, he stood nearby and watched.
Both of their parents were unable to attend, and the person officiating the wedding was Davion.
He is now nearly seventy, with gray hair, but still full of energy, working tirelessly on the forefront of scientific research.
Davion handed Harley’s hand to Harold; his eyes were slightly moist.
“I didn’t expect that you, of all people, would end up marrying Harley.”
“I was just saying earlier, why are you always sticking to Harley? Turns out you had feelings for Harley a long time ago.”
Harold smiled awkwardly.
“Professor Galvan, wasn’t it obvious from my expression? I thought you. knew.”
Davion patted his shoulder, his tone serious.
“Be kinder to Harley, old man, and I could live for some more time. If I find out that you dare to bully Harley, I will definitely break your legs.”
Harold’s gaze was firm, and his voice was resolute and powerful.

“You can rest assured about this, if I dare to treat Harley badly, I will first break my own leg.”
Davion shifted his gaze back to Harley, his tone becoming slightly gentler.
“Harley, Davion has also watched you grow little by little. In my eyes, you are equivalent to my goddaughter.”
“You were a good child, intelligent, brave, and resilient, and very talented. Davion believed that you would definitely excel even more in the future.”
Harley’s eyes also became slightly moist, and he bowed to Davion.
“Thank you, Professor Galvan, Harley will never forget your kindness.”
Joaquin stood there and watched for a long time, until the guests finished their meal and started to leave. Joaquin was still hesitating, unsure whether he should give the thing in his hand to Harley.
After much thought, he eventually gave up.
He had just thought of turning around and leaving when he saw an unexpected person in the nearby corner, it was Myra.
So many years have passed, and I don’t even know what she has been through, or even how she looks more haggard than him.
Joaquin still had some doubts about why Myra was here, but a bad thought immediately arose in Joaquin’s mind when he caught a glimpse of the dagger in Myra’s hand.
I saw Myra itching to do something, while the other two people on the other side were completely unprepared.
Joaquin gritted his teeth and rushed up to grab Myra.

Myra instinctively waved the dagger, and Joaquin was stabbed several times but still refused to let go of Myra.
Myra’s eyes flickered with a hint of disbelief as she recognized the approaching figure as Joaquin. Then, tears welled up in her eyes, and she slowly closed them.
Harley was unaware of what had happened with Joaquin, she only felt a sharp pain in her heart and had a vague sense of something bad.
A brooch rolled in front of her, Harley picked it up and realized it was her mother’s keepsake that she had accidentally lost many years ago.
But why did it appear here?
Harley thought for a long time but couldn’t figure it out, so he had to take it as fate.
She looked up at the sky, and a tear slid down the corner of her eye..
“Mom, were you watching over me from heaven? Is this your blessing?”
Harold also learned from her and slowly spoke, “Harley’s mom, I would definitely make Harley happy.”
His words broke the sad atmosphere, and Harley glanced at him with annoyance, but then he smiled and extended his hand towards Harold.
“The future was written by us together.”
Harold took her hand and planted a kiss on it.
“From now on, there is only eternal separation between us, never to be reunited.”
