Chapter 7
“Indeed, she’s quite shameless. Her husband is begging her like this, and she still shows such an indifferent expression.”
Anthony paused for a moment, intuitively wanting to retort. But he suddenly remembered that I cared about other people’s judgment so much.
He thought I would choose to go back with him if I heard their judgment.
“Karina, please, I’m begging you. Come back with me, okay?”
I sneered. Anthony was still the same, never considering my feelings.
Even now, he was extremely arrogant.
“Anthony, I’ve already gotten rid of the child.”
I shook off his hand and walked towards the boarding gate.
Anthony froze. “No way, no way!
“Why did you get rid of our child?”
Just as Anthony was about to rush over to me, several security guards surrounded him, blocking his way. “Sir, loud noises are not allowed in this area. Please follow the rules of the airport!”
Seeing me about to enter the gate, Anthony was anxious and desperate. He struggled and shouted, “Karina, listen to me. I can explain!
“It doesn’t matter that you got rid of the child. We can have another one. Please don’t leave! Don’t go!”
I shook my head lightly and continued towards the boarding gate.

Seeing this, Anthony went mad. He struggled to break free from the security staff and ran towards me.
In the chaos, he knocked over the luggage rack next to him. The luggage cases were scattered all over the place, making a mess in the airport.
He was hit hard on the foot by the luggage, falling to the ground, watching me walk further and further away.
“Karina, don’t go, please…”
I boarded the plane without looking back.
A few hours later, the plane slowly landed at the airport in Madrid.
I pulled my luggage out of the passageway and immediately saw my professor, Albert. He had been waiting for a long time.
Albert was usually very calm and composed, but now he couldn’t hide his excitement and quickly came up to give me a big hug.
“Karina, you’ve finally arrived! Everything here is ready, just waiting for you to join us.
“But why did you suddenly decide to come to Spain? Where is your husband? I remember you’re very sweet. Do you have the child now?”
I fell silent for a moment.
I touched my belly, then smiled faintly. “We’re divorced.”
Albert’s expression froze. He wanted to comfort me, but not knowing what to say, and finally just sighed, “Well, life is a long journey. You’ll meet another good man in the future.”
Albert was of such an old age, but he still said in a playful tone like a child, “I’m not the only one coming to pick you up today. Do you

remember I have another student, Jeremy Clarke? He is also here.
“When he heard that you would come to join us, he was so excited. He is handsome. You two look good together.”
I smiled and shook my head.
This marriage already consumed too much of my time and energy.
I couldn’t guarantee that my next relationship won’t repeat the same mistakes.
Albert noticed my thoughts and quickly changed the topic.
Jeremy wasn’t upset and helped me carry the luggage.
On the way, Albert enthusiastically introduced the upcoming research projects.
Upon arriving at the embassy, I couldn’t wait to change into my
professional suit, eager to dive into the translation work immediately, but Albert stopped me with a smile.
“You are my most promising student. You just arrived here, so let’s have a welcome party for you. Relax first and start work later, and also get to know your colleagues at the translation agency.”
I scratched my head shyly. Seeing Albert’s expectant face, I really couldn’t refuse him.
“Alright, let’s go.”
The party was warm and cozy. Colleagues came over to greet and welcome me. Everyone sat together, laughing and talking. The party vibe was very lively.
I saw Jeremy in the crowd. He was as energetic as before, his face

beaming with a bright smile.
We hadn’t met each other for a long time, but his enthusiasm for me was as same as before.
“Karina, haven’t seen you for a long time!” Jeremy quickly approached and gave me a big hug.
“Jeremy, you’re still the same, full of energy,” I responded with a smile.
We found a quiet corner to sit down and started chatting about our recent lives.
