Chapter 184
Opening Sarah’s bedroom door, his heart nearly stopped at the sight of her.
When he touched her, she was burning hot.
Without wasting time, he rushed her to the hospital.
From 2 AM until after 5, her fever finally broke. He hadn’t dared sleep, anxiously watching the IV drip while constantly
monitoring her condition.
“You’re not leaving the hospital again.” Zachary’s tone left no room for argument.
Sarah could tell from his expression that he was furious.
“Thanks for the trouble,” she said with an awkward laugh.
This made Zachary even angrier. ‘Thanks for the trouble‘ – why was she always so distant?
“Trouble? Don’t ever say that again.” Zachary suddenly leaned closer to Sarah.
Startled, she shrank back. “Don’t get too close. You’ll catch my cold.”
She covered her mouth, coughing several times.
But Zachary didn’t move away. Instead, he studied her intently. Her beautiful eyes avoided his gaze, making her look adorable.
Suddenly, he felt an urge – a strange feeling. Looking at Sarah’s lips, he remembered their accidental kiss, though it hadn’t really
been accidental.
He kissed her again, while Sarah weakly pushed against him.
But she had no strength to push him away.
The moment their lips met, Sarah’s hands dropped. Her eyes widened as she stared at him – his sharp brows, his eyes meeting hers with tenderness and barely concealed heat.
She froze, unable to react, just staring at Zachary.
Time seemed to stop. At just past five, twilight hung between moonset and sunrise.
His presence overwhelmed her senses, making her heart flutter and her cheeks flush.
Just then, a nurse walked in.
Sarah quickly closed her eyes, pretending to sleep. Zachary hadn’t moved.
“What are you doing?” the nurse asked softly, then noticed Sarah apparently sleeping and her expression changed.

“Get out! Get out! This is a hospital – how dare you take advantage!” The nurse reached for her phone, eyeing Zachary
suspiciously.
Zachary frowned but said nothing.
Sarah heard the commotion and opened her eyes to see the wary nurse and an embarrassed Zachary.
Understanding what happened from the nurse’s words, she glared at Zachary before saying, “It’s a misunderstanding. He’s my
friend.”
“Misunderstanding? Impossible! I saw him kissing you – I saw everything!”
“What’s going on? This is a hospital – patients need rest!” The head nurse entered carrying a medical tray.
The younger nurse immediately reported what she’d seen.
The head nurse looked at Zachary and Sarah knowingly. “Alright, I understand. You can go now.”
“But…”
“No buts.” The head nurse pulled her aside, whispering something.
The young nurse blushed and hurried out. The head nurse quickly apologized to Zachary. “I’m sorry, Mr. Reynolds. She’s new and
didn’t know about your relationship.”
Zachary looked at her thoughtfully. “What relationship?”
The head nurse hesitated. “Aren’t you… you know… dating?”
