Chapter 2 Dinner Together
When they got out of the city hall, the sunset was just perfect.
“Our marriage can’t be made public for some reasons. We can hold the wedding later as you like. Besides, are you gonna move in with me now
or what?”
Osvaldo acted fast and adapted to change quickly. After getting the marriage certificate, he immediately got into the role of a husband.
However, Valentina still felt slightly dazed, but one thing was certain- there was no turning back now.
“I’m a bit busy these days.”

She was busy with work. Recently, she had to work until midnight almost every day and couldn’t even take a break on weekends.
Nevaeh Hickman, president of the Crawford Group, would retire soon. Her grandson would come back to take over the Crawford Group, and Valentina had just been promoted as the director of the R&D Department of the Crawford Group. Valentina needed to wrap up her old projects and shift to the new workload. She was super busy.
Valentina got the job by herself. It was due to her hard work, excellent skills, and outstanding performance that she got the promotion.
“OK. You can move in with me when you want to.”
Osvaldo gave her as much buffer time as she wanted.
“Give me your phone.”

Valentina was a bit stunned.
But she quickly unlocked her phone and passed it to him.
Osvaldo took the phone and dialed his number. Then, he saved his number in her phone before returning it to her. “I’ve saved my number in your phone. Call me anytime if you need anything.
Valentina put away her phone without taking a look. She took a long breath and replied, “OK.”
You might find a better future by letting go of what’s holding you back.”
His words seemed to have an implied meaning, but Valentina didn’t think much of that and nodded obediently.
“Alright, it’s getting dark. How about having dinner together?”
Osvaldo seemed to adjust well.
At least, in his eyes, Valentina was more suitable for him. He’d get married anyway, but a capable subordinate was somewhat better than those arrogant ladies.
Moreover, compared with those women, Valentina was way better in terms of academic background, appearance, and abilities. It should be easy to communicate with her.
“Rest assured. I won’t sell you. After all, we need to get familiar with each other,” said Osvaldo indifferently.
Hearing that, Valentina nodded directly. “OK.”
Night descended in silence, streetlights flickering to life as the avenues

pulsed with streams of headlights and hurried footsteps.
Osvaldo took Valentina to Nostalgia Dining, a locally famous restaurant, where the food was rather popular. Even with reservations booked a full month ahead, scoring a table was nearly impossible. The prices were astronomical, yet the place remained perpetually packed.
Valentina didn’t think much. She thought that Osvaldo had made a reservation in advance probably because he wanted to celebrate the marriage registration with his former fiancée.
Osvaldo was bombarded with calls nonstop.
The dishes were served quickly.
It was then that Osvaldo hung up his phone and put it away. He lifted his eyes and looked at her. “Help yourself.”
“Thank you.”
Valentina picked up the fork when her phone buzzed.
She took out her phone and glanced at it. Her face turning grim, she looked at him apologetically. “I need to take this.”
Osvaldo nodded aloofly.
