Chapter 4 A Pricey Meal
Ethen thought for a while before shifting his eyes to Shirley.
“No need to rush. We’ll let things unfold naturally. Making the first move would be unwise. We have to sound them out in case of any trouble.”
Ethen wasn’t stupid. His decades in business had sharpened his instincts. He had become a lot shrewder.
“Are you saying…” Shirley asked, her eyes glistening.
“Nothing. It depends on the Stantons. It’s said that they want to build. connections with the Crawford Group. The Crawford Group has been interested in the entertainment industry. I heard that Mrs. Crawford has retired and asked her grandson to take over the company. Konnor is trying to connect with him…”
“The Crawford Group? Isn’t Valentina working there? Can she gain any information?” Shirley asked.
Ethen flew into a rage at once.
“She’s never talked with us about the Crawford Group. By now, she’s merely an ordinary clerk. What can she possibly know?”
Ethen believed that Valentina would have brought benefits for Seaview Media if she were really capable, but she didn’t. Moreover, in Ethen’s eyes, she even tried every means to act against Duffy, who was fully eyes, she even tried every means to committed to Seaview Media.
The Crawford Group was a top company in Pherton. Even the Stantons didn’t dare to mess with them, let alone the Campbells.

During the meal, Osvaldo received endless calls.
Having been through a lot in one day, Valentina wasn’t in a good mood,
especially after she got the call from Ethen. Besides, by now, the Stantons. hadn’t given her any explanation yet!
Not even a text was received!
Clearly, they had been aware of this. It was just that they all chose to ignore her and treat her as a fool.
Valentina wasn’t a saint. Surely she had been affected. In fact, she felt so bitterly pained that she was on the verge of collapsing.
So, when Osvaldo was away for a call, she went to pay the bill.
Upon seeing the bill, she was shocked. The meal cost 3,300 dollars!
Even the wine cost 1,000 dollars!
No wonder this was the most expensive restaurant in the city. It wasn’t. affordable for people like Valentina.
By estimate, it was equivalent to her week’s wages!
Valentina put away the receipt and said to Tobias, “Hello, please tell Mr. Crawford that I’ll call him later. Now I just need to leave.”
After saying that, she left the restaurant and seemed to forget that she had been married.
Tobias had no idea what to do.
In the blink of an eye, Valentina had disappeared from his sight.
He hastened to check with the waitress, only to find the bill had been. paid
Osvaldo finished the call, and Tobias entered the private room.
“Mr. Crawford, Ms… Mrs. Crawford has left.”
Osvaldo lifted his eyes at him.
Tobias inhaled a breath as he met Osvaldo’s calm eyes and then continued. “She’s just paid the bill…”
Osvaldo wasn’t surprised to hear that.
“Mr. Crawford,” Tobias spoke hesitantly.
“What?” Osvaldo’s voice was cold and emotionless.
“Just now, Mrs. Crawford mentioned…it cost her week’s wages!”
A week’s wages of hers?
Osvaldo was silent for a second and then quickly came around.
“Get her a bank card. Put her bill on my tab if she comes to eat here
again.”
Actually, it made perfect sense. Outwardly serene, she maintained an air of quiet composure. Yet, beneath the surface lay a woman of razor–sharp aloofness and unshakable independence.
“Yes.”
Tobias was stunned because Osvaldo had barely given such an order.
“So, is Ms. Campbell a bit special to Mr. Crawford, or does he simply not

want a girl to pay for his food?” he wondered.
Tobias wasn’t sure whether Osvaldo’s grandpa, William Crawford, would accept Valentina, given her identity.
“Mr. Crawford, your family just called about you and Ms. Frederick…” Tobias asked carefully.
“As they wish. I’ve been married,” Osvaldo said.
The selection of his wife was up to him. Anyway, his family merely wanted him to get married.
Osvaldo rose with an aloof face.
“But how to explain to the Frederick family…”
Osvaldo interrupted, “No need to consider the cooperation with them. I don’t want to see any news about me having anything to do with the Frederick family.”
Tobias got the hint immediately.
Osvaldo never meant to explain anything!
Once again, Tobias felt sorry for the Frederick family in his heart.
The Frederick family was sort of influential in Pherton. If it weren’t for Mr. Frederick having done a favor for William and his health issues, Osvaldo would never have considered Cecilia as his spouse.
However, Cecilia thought Osvaldo was obsessed with her. So, she had swaggered around in the name of Osvaldo’s fiancée, which had probably caused his disgruntlement.
This time, Osvaldo failed to make it back for her party because of a big

project. Later, he even gave her a gift as an apology.
However, she avoided Osvaldo’s calls for three days and even left for a trip, demanding that he apologize and confess his love for her in public, using drones.
As a result, she lost her chance to marry Osvaldo.

One night was enough for Valentina to compose herself and convince. herself to stay calm and care more about herself. Moreover, she had work
to deal with.
As a result, she totally put aside the fact that she had been married.
The next morning, she received the VIP card personally delivered by the manager of Nostalgia Dining and an exquisite breakfast as soon as she got to her office.
“Ms. Campbell, please take this,” the manager said respectfully.
Totally at a loss, Valentina asked in surprise, “What’s this?”
She didn’t remember when she had any dealings or cooperation with such a fancy restaurant.
“I’m doing this under orders. You can show the card without reservation when you come to Nostalgia Dining.”
Then, the manager just put down the card and the meal box before leaving.
Valentina stared at the things on her desk in confusion and didn’t come back to her senses until Shayna Wilson, her assistant, knocked on the door.
Chapter 4 & Priory Meal
“Ms. Campbell. here’s an invitation from the PR Department.”
Shayna passed a delicate red invitation card to Valentina.
Valentina took the card and opened it. It turned out that there was a charity party the night after tomorrow. She’d been assigned to attend the party with Trevin Laurenson, manager of the PR Department.
Year after year, the Crawford Group dedicated itself to charitable causes. Naturally, Valentina was no stranger to such events.
JOK. got it.” Valentina replied casually and continued to work quickly.
