Chapter 12 Jealousy
“Waiter. where is the champagne–pink dress that was on the model just now? Hurry up and bring it over.”
This voice was very familiar. Valentina subconsciously turned her gaze and took a quick look.
It was Serena.
Dressed in a red spaghetti–strap top layered under a loose white shirt, tucked into low–waisted black trousers, she carried a black Dior bag on her arm. Her sleek hair cascaded down her back, adorned with a luxurious Cartier bracelet and other high–end accessories.
She was tugging along a girl in a warm white A–line dress paired with a light gray coat. The girl’s jet–black hair flowed like a waterfall over her shoulders, her delicate makeup enhancing her gentle, captivating charm.
It was none other than Duffy.
“We have looked around, but the dress we saw earlier is still the best. Duffy, with your figure and elegance, any outfit would shine its brightest on you. I can imagine you stealing the spotlight at the Charity Night!”
Duffy smiled, “It’s just a simple appearance on the stage, nothing that grand.”
Although Duffy appeared modest, she was full of excitement and fantasies, looking forward to stunning everyone at this dinner party and making a name for herself.
So, the evening dress was very important. The off–shoulder champagne-
pink dress just now was gorgeous.
With her flawless figure, grace, and beauty, plus the influence of her mother. Shirley, and Luciano, the media would hype her up. Duffy believed that she would become a hot topic.
“Sorry, ladies. That dress has been sold. That is a high–end custom–made version, and there is only one. How about you take a look at other styles? The newly arrived styles are all very beautiful…”
The sales assistant apologized.
“What? It has been sold? Valentina, why are you here?”
Serena was about to complain when she turned around and saw Valentina standing in front of the mirror.
Clad in the black evening gown, Valentina exuded elegance and sophistication. Her hair was pinned up, revealing her sharp, striking features, the graceful curve of her swan–like neck, and her tall, perfectly proportioned figure. Even without makeup, her fiery red lips and the simplicity of the dress accentuated her cold, ethereal beauty.
Duffy hated Valentina in this way the most. No matter how down–and–out Valentina was, she could always maintain an inborn sense of nobility. However, no matter how Duffy dressed up, no matter how many famous brands she wore, at best, people would only say that she was sweet and cute. Even her stylist and the agent also advised her to stick to a fresh, girly image.
Duffy chose to be a model because she wanted to crush Valentina in terms of presence and to trample her underfoot once and for all!
Looking at Valentina like this, Duffy couldn’t suppress the rage, envy, and hatred boiling inside her.
She couldn’t accept it.
Duffy wondered, “Why does the very aura I struggle so hard to achieve come so effortlessly to Valentina?”
With great effort, Duffy suppressed the jealousy in her eyes, and a smile appeared on her small face. “Valentina, you are here too,” she said, feigning surprise.
“It’s really a small world!”
Serena, on the opposite side, sneered and gave Valentina a hateful glance. “You are everywhere, simply like a damn ghost. Ignoring calls, leaving messages on read–who the hell do you think you are?”
“Valentina, Luciano didn’t mean it. He just wanted you to calm down for a while…”
“Duffy, there’s no need to say too much to her! Don’t spoil her! Luciano is just too nice to her, so she acts all high and mighty. She should know her place!”
Serena looked angry and stared at Valentina haughtily.
“Serena, don’t say that. Valentina didn’t mean it. It’s just a misunderstanding. Valentina, it’s all my fault. I…”
Valentina couldn’t be bothered to watch their performance. She returned to the fitting room, changed out of the dress, and handed it to the sales. assistant. “I’ll take this one. Here’s my card.”
Valentina directly took out the card from her bag and handed it to the sales assistant.
“Okay, madam. You look absolutely stunning. This dress is elegant and noble… It’s like it was tailored just for you. You have impeccable taste!”

The sales assistant couldn’t help but praise, with amazement in her eyes.
Seeing this. Duffy gritted her teeth in hatred again. Especially when she heard others praise Valentina, she was overwhelmed by jealousy.
Duffy imagined, “Valentina is just an ordinary person. In terms of elegance and nobility, how could she be better than me, a professional model?”
Bitterness and jealousy festered inside Duffy, impossible to ignore.
Duffy just couldn’t help but compete with Valentina. She had to win. She wanted to grind Valentina into the dirt and leave her rotting in the mud so she could never rise again.
Thinking of this, Duffy took a deep breath, controlled her emotions, and said softly, “Valentina, you have such good taste. Sales, I’d like the same dress. A sister–matching look! My frame should be smaller than my sister’s. I’ll take size S…”
“Sorry, madam. This dress is also a limited edition. Only one was made. This lady has chosen it, and it requires her height to carry off the effect. Perhaps you’d like to browse our new arrivals? We just got some stunning pieces in.”
The sales assistant replied politely.
The smile on Duffy’s face froze immediately. A flicker of cold fury flashed. in her eyes before she masked it with disappointment.
Seeing Duffy like this, Serena felt a little sorry for her and said, “Since Duffy likes it, Valentina, give this dress to her. Anyway, it’s useless for you to wear it. Duffy has a very important banquet to attend, which is related to the interests of Seaview Media. You won’t be so selfish, will
you?”
Chapter 12 Jealousy-
Valentina frowned slightly.
“Are you mute? Speak up! Fine, we’ll pay you double!”
After a long while, there was still no response from Valentina.
Serena’s brows were wrinkled together in irritation. “If you like it very much. Duffy will return it to you after the event. It’s just a piece of clothing. Don’t be so petty. Have some decency.”
“Valentina, is it okay? I really need it. I was injured a few days ago and fell behind schedule. This gala is important. I will represent Seaview Media. Afterward, I’ll return the dress and buy you a few more, okay? Name your price–triple? Five times? Just say it!”
Duffy asked softly for permission.
Valentina turned a deaf ear and signaled the sales assistant to go and
check out.
“Hey, are you deaf? Didn’t you hear us talking to you? Valentina, say something. Damn it!”
Seeing that Valentina directly ignored them, Serena was furious and immediately reached out to grab Valentina’s clothes.
Valentina shook Serena’s hand off with a backhand move. Only a “slap” sound was heard. Serena’s hand, which was flung away, swept directly in front of Duffy, and her sharp fingernails scratched Duffy’s face.
