Chapter 24
Carter’s heart surged with anger, and he raised his fist to punch Elliott in front of him!
Elliott quickly dodged Carter’s fist and then punched him in the face!
“Bang!”
Unlike the affectionate and gentle appearance in front of Helen, Elliott at this moment was cold and steady, with a furrowed brow and dangerous narrowed black eyes.
Since Carter treated him like that, he didn’t need to be polite to him
either.
The black umbrella smashed into the mud, splashing mud and water everywhere.
Lightning kept flashing across the sky, the two of them were like two madmen punching each other back and forth, but it was mostly Elliott beating up Carter unilaterally.
In just a few moments, Carter’s face was covered in blood, pale as he leaned against the door, the white lightning illuminating his haggard face again and again, the bloodstains beside him washed away by the
rain.
He tried to prop up his body, but couldn’t move a muscle, excruciating pain spreading through every nerve in his body.
Elliott finally relaxed his fist, using the handkerchief from his pocket
to slowly wipe away the blood on his hands, before picking up the black umbrella he had dropped on the ground, wiping off the mud, and opening it up again.
Carter, don’t come back again in the future.
Helen had just become pregnant, the fetus was unstable, and it was not possible to see you.
If you insist on meeting, I can only call the Hoffman family to ask how they raised their son.

Pregnant!?
Carter, who had been looking down at the ground, suddenly raised his head and exclaimed, “What did you just say? Who is pregnant?!”
“Whose child is it?”
Elliott snorted coldly, “Of course it was mine.”
This sentence was like an invisible hand tearing open Carter’s chest, and a cold wind rushed in, freezing him stiff all over!
He couldn’t see anything, he couldn’t hear anything, and even his heart, which had been beating violently, suddenly stopped.
He still stood there blankly, but his heart was in turmoil!
Before coming to this island, before these things were exposed, he had been thinking that after returning to Helen, he would have more children with her so that she wouldn’t have to resent Freya anymore.

But now, his gaze was fixed firmly on Elliott standing in front of him- just moments ago he had personally told himself, word for word, that Helen was pregnant, and it was his child!
In an instant, Carter felt as if his heart had been chopped into pieces, crushed into a bloody pulp.
His breathing was rapid and heavy, his chest heaving violently as if each breath carried a tearing pain.
From Helen’s sudden disappearance without a trace to now seeing her getting married and having children with someone else.
All these things were telling him that Helen really didn’t want him.
anymore!
The web of lies he had woven for himself was finally shattered in this
moment.
Suddenly, he remembered the night of his wedding with Helen, when. she had told him very seriously that if he ever disappointed her, she would leave him forever.
He overestimated her feelings for him at that time, so he treated her vows as a joke and laughed it off..
So he kept deceiving himself time and time again, there was a reason behind his relationship with Freya, he did it for his elder brother, for the sake of keeping his widowed sister–in–law alive, for the future of the Hoffman family, for his elder brother.
He only sacrificed their small home temporarily for this cause, and after everything was over, he would reveal the truth with Helen.
Helen was so understanding, she must have been able to understand

him and support him.
Now everyone is telling him that he was wrong, he was completely
wrong!
“Hehe…”
A self–deprecating remark spilled out of Carter’s mouth, only to be quickly drowned out by the deafening sound of rain.
Elliott across the street was also too lazy to bother with such a person anymore, and turned around without hesitation and went back into the
room.
The moment the cold iron gate slammed shut in front of Carter, he collapsed completely to the ground, his face pressed tightly against the cold ground, tears mingling with the rain.
His shoulders shook violently, emitting a long–suppressed sob, a sound so faint amidst the rain but filled with endless sadness and despair.
Helen…
