Chapter 17
Felix heard Maggie’s voice, quickly turned around, and grinned.
Obviously, he also remembered that when he talked to Maggie back then, he mentioned that his English was not good.
Wasn’t what I said correct? I never knew English, if it weren’t for you teaching me, I might have needed a translator even when I came to America.
His fair face instantly revealed two round dimples.
Maggie was shaken for a moment, and when she came to her senses, she noticed that several female colleagues around her were staring at her, both openly and discreetly.
He smiled helplessly and said, “Come to my office first, don’t stand here.”
She turned around and walked away, leading him.
Felix quickly followed.
Behind them, a crowd of people stared at their departing figures, whispering among themselves.
This guy liked our Maggie.

The assistant cleared his throat and gave a meaningful look.
Alright, stop chatting and get back to work!
Everyone dispersed just now.
The assistant discreetly glanced at Maggie’s office, with a surge of gossip swirling in her heart.
In the office.
Maggie made a cup of tea for Felix and casually said, “Have some coffee, new beans, it tastes okay.”
Felix nodded, took a sip, and sincerely said, “Not bad, only the United States can find such good stuff.”
Maggie chuckled lightly, with a contented look in her eyes.
Look at what you said, if it weren’t for your poor English, everyone would think you were American.
Felix shrugged, “What’s there to feel? I was always American, just didn’t grow up here.”
Maggie certainly knew this.
He then quickly asked, “Why did you suddenly come to work in America? Didn’t you also get promoted in Germany?”
Felix put down the teacup and rubbed his fingers around the rim of the
cup.
Didn’t you say I could/come to America to work? Are you kidding me?
Maggie was stunned.
When she recalled the words she said to Felix when she left, she

realized that she was just being polite, but Felix took it seriously.
This misunderstanding came out of nowhere.
Maggie sighed and asked more carefully, “What about your parents? Are they not against your return to America? Didn’t you say they are old and don’t want to be bothered anymore?”
Felix nodded, lifted his head, and his eyes were calm.
I told them that I wanted to go back to America. They didn’t object, they just said they hoped I could go back to my hometown and take some photos for them.
Maggie finally relaxed.
Another casual question popped out of his mouth: “Do you need my help with going back to our hometown?”
Felix suddenly nodded and replied in broken English, “Of course, without your help, I couldn’t find the place.”
Maggie chuckled again.
Where is your hometown?
Felix carefully thought and took out an old photo from his pocket: “Downtown New York, Happiness Street 303.”
Maggie’s hand jerked suddenly.
I almost threw the tea cup in my hand.
She exclaimed in shock, “Say that again? Who?”
Felix spoke fluently this time.
I said, “303 Happiness Street, downtown New York.”

Maggie listened carefully this time, her face showing both surprise and astonishment, and asked, “Do you know where I lived when I was a child?”
Felix shook his head.
Maggie chuckled suddenly and said word by word.
“I used to live at 302 Happiness Street.”
