Chapter 1
My husband killed me. On our wedding anniversary.
As I plummeted through the air after he cut the rope
His voice echoed, “This is what you deserve. Go to hell and apologize to Cheryl.”
That’s when I realized–Our marriage was never love.
It was a slow–burning revenge.
Years ago, I’d forced him to marry me by claiming I was pregnant.
But on our wedding day, his first love came back.
The moment she saw us at the ceremony, she jumped off a rooftop.
If I had a second chance, I’d never be so blind again.
When I opened my eyes again, I wasn’t dead.
I was back to the night I first told him, “I’m pregnant” to force our
engagement.
This time, I won’t beg for love.
This time, I’ll make him regret ever laying a hand on me.

The security guard in black blocked my way with a cold expression.
This launch event–funded and organized by my parents for Caden- was something they poured their hearts, resources, and money into. And yet, I wasn’t even invited.
But inside, I was thrilled.
Because just a moment ago, I had been reborn.
I returned on the day of the product launch.
My family had far more money and influence than the Parrish family.
But I was blindly devoted to Caden. Even though his heart belonged to Cheryl Johnson, his first love, I never gave up.
His mother was happy to see this happen, and the moment Cheryl went abroad, she rushed to push our engagement.
But Caden never showed me the slightest warmth.
The guard was used to seeing me get snubbed and didn’t bother hiding his contempt–there was even a trace of mockery in his voice.
“Ms. Wilson, why do this to yourself?”
Guests in designer dresses walked past me with ease. Some recognized me and whispered behind lowered hands.
In my previous life, I’d been stopped outside the launch event just like this.
Wearing an haute couture dress, I’d stood in the cold, trembling, while enduring all their scorn and sneers.

After I fainted and was taken to the hospital, I found out I was
pregnant.
Caden’s face instantly turned cold.
But Mia Parrish, his mother, was overjoyed and immediately announced the wedding would be held in a month.
What I didn’t expect was that Cheryl would come back on the wedding day.
The moment she saw Caden marrying me, she burst into tears and jumped off the rooftop.
Yet Caden didn’t even flinch. He went through with the wedding like nothing had happened..
After the wedding, our child was born. For a time, we lived like a picture–perfect family.
I thought the nightmare was over. I believed we were truly happy.
Then on our anniversary, he took me and our child bungee jumping to “celebrate.”
I had no doubts, just pure joy.
But just as we were about to jump, he cut the cord from behind us.
In my final moments, I saw the rage in his eyes as he looked at me.
“If it weren’t for you trapping me into marriage with the child, Cheryl wouldn’t have died!

of you two disgusts me!
“Go down to hell and apologize to Cheryl!”
It was then that I realized–everything had been a lie. He’d blamed Cheryl’s death on me and our child all these years.
Even after my death, he didn’t spare my parents.
He used them for all they were worth, then turned around and destroyed them too.
In this life, all I want is to stay far away from Caden and protect myself and my family.
