Chapter 2
I turned and left, the security guard was looking at me in disbelief.
Behind me, I heard him muttering. “This loyal dog just walked away?”
I smiled bitterly and got into the car.
In Los Angeles’s high society, everyone knew how much I loved Caden.
I helped him develop his products.
I even hired the models for the product launch.
All he had to do was enjoy the final results.
He had told me more than once that his family’s influence in Los Angeles was weak and that he needed more support.
So, I emptied my family’s resources to support him. Yet, at the celebration, he didn’t even bother to mention my name.
Instead, the one he thanked with tears in her eyes was Cheryl–a not- popular celebrity.
Without any prior notice, he replaced all the brand ambassadors with her.
When I asked, he just smiled nonchalantly.
“Cheryl is hardworking and ambitious. Why not give her a chance?”
Chapter 2
I found it ridiculous. Was success in the entertainment industry really all about hard work and ambition?
As their interactions grew more frequent, I had someone investigate.
That’s when I learned–Cheryl was the one he had loved and lost when
he was younger.
When Cheryl faced online harassment, he didn’t hesitate to pour the company’s full resources into supporting her.
When I questioned him about it, he slapped me in front of everyone.
“Cheryl works for our company. Why do you think you have any say in this?
“She’s so kind and innocent, are you going to just stand by and watch her get hurt?”
But the truth was, Cheryl set up a private meeting with a rich livestream fan, and his wife found out, which led to revenge.
I couldn’t bear to live through the lies again.
I had just arrived at the hospital to schedule an abortion when I saw Caden, carefully helping Cheryl.
The way they smiled at each other looked like a couple in love.
When my eyes met Caden’s, a shiver ran through me.
The pain from the fall in my past life came flooding back.
As soon as Caden saw me, the smile in his eyes vanished, replaced by a cold, sinister look.

Chapter 2
Seeing this, Cheryl said nervously with a cunning gaze, “Don’t
misunderstand. The stage suddenly collapsed, and I accidentally fell. That’s why Mr. Parrish brought me to the hospital…”
There was a small bruise on her ankle.
She shook Caden’s sleeve with a pitiful expression.
“Don’t blame her. She definitely didn’t do it on purpose.”
As expected, after hearing her words, Caden’s eyes turned bloodshot. He rushed over and grabbed my neck.
“If it weren’t for you, Cheryl wouldn’t have been hurt!”
The product launch that excluded me–every detail, even the setup. was supposedly not my responsibility.
Now, with an accident on the scene, it was somehow my fault, event though I wasn’t there.
Seeing my face turning red with anger, Caden smirked. His eyes landed on the sign for the OBGYN department and sneered. “Luna, don’t tell me you’re trying to use pregnancy to force me into marriage?”
He suddenly let go, and I collapsed to the floor.
“If it’s true, then you can go ahead and get rid of it yourself. Don’t force me to do it.
“You’re not even worthy of carrying my child,” he said, holding Cheryl’s hand and walking away.
I felt a warm, damp sensation in my lower body. A nurse passed by and saw me, panicking as she cried, “Someone, quick! Help her!”
