Chapter 13 Seymour’s Concern
At Sephora’s answer, Christine realized she had gotten Sephora wrong earlier in the afternoon–Sephora had indeed attended a party. She looked at Sephora and couldn’t help but feel guilty.
She parted her lips, wanting to say something.
Just then, Sephora looked at Bridgette with a sarcastic smile. “Bridgette, it seems you’ve forgotten something. Why don’t you tell Mom and Dad you switched the gift?”
“What?”
Christine and Gerald were baffled.
“Ask Bridgette. She knows what I’m talking about more than anyone. I’m done eating, so I’ll go back to my room.
With that, Sephora left the dining table without looking back.
Christine and Gerald’s gazes fell upon Bridgette.
“The gift… I took Sephora’s gift by accident when I left home today. I didn’t mean to, and I’ve already apologized to her. But she just wouldn’t forgive me…
Seeing the tears in her eyes, Christine and Gerald bought it.
“Don’t worry, Bridie. I’ll talk to her,” Christine comforted her.
“No, Mom. You don’t have to do that for me. It’s my fault anyway.

Sephora has every right to be upset with me.”
Christine sighed at how sensible Bridgette was. Compared to her, Sephora was so willful and unruly.
Noticing the look on Christine’s face, Bridgette knew she had
successfully tricked Christine once again and couldn’t help but curve her lips. But the triumphant smile lasted for less than a second before. she looked aggrieved again.
Meanwhile, Sephora heard her phone ring right after she went back to her room. She answered, and Seymour’s displeased voice rang out.
“Shall I call you Sephie or Philomel?”
“What? So, you already know…” Sephora faltered.
“Sir Austin called me and told me about the gift. Or I wouldn’t have known you’re the renowned calligrapher!”
Seymour huffed. Sephora mastering calligraphy wasn’t why he was angry. Instead, he would have given her all his support if he had known about her hobby.
What pissed him off was she didn’t tell him about this, and he had to learn it from someone else.
“Seymour, I wasn’t trying to hide it from you. I just never found the right chance to tell you. Could you forgive me? Pretty please? You’re the best,” sensing the coldness in Seymour’s tone, Sephora quickly said, playing cute.
She knew it worked on her brothers the best.
Sure enough, Seymour’s tone softened at once.

“I’m not upset because you’re Philomel. It’s just that now you’re back with your biological parents, you seem to shut me out of your world,” he said.
“That’s not true, Seymour. I promise that I’ll never keep anything from you from now on. Don’t be upset with me anymore, OK?”
“Remember your words–this is the last time something like this happened. Oh, and Sir Austin told me you wrote the blessing words for him on the spot, and Bridgette had the gift I prepared for him. What was that about?”
Sephora briefly told him about what had happened at the party.
He frowned when he heard Bridgette had swapped the gift.
Not wanting Seymour to worry about her, she quickly added, “Don’t worry, Seymour.
“Her tricks are just child’s play and won’t hurt me.”
Seymour said, “Take care of yourself. If anything, let me know. Promise?”
“Promise. Seymour, you’re the best.”
“Alright then. It’s getting late, so I’m hanging up. Good night, Sephie.”
Good night.
Hanging up, Sephora couldn’t help but feel warm, smiling happily. Sure enough, her brothers were the ones who cared about her the most.
Early the next morning, Christine urged Bridgette and Sephora to go down for breakfast.

After washing up, Sephora came to the dining table, and the other three had already begun eating.
“Sephie, you don’t have anything to do later, do you?” Christine asked.
“No.”
Sephora thought about it–she had no chess class today. Besides, she was new here and didn’t exactly have any friends around, so she had nothing else to do other than play chess.
“What’s up, Mom?”
“There will be a banquet in a few days, and I wanna take you there to see the world. I suppose you don’t have any decent clothes, right? I wanna take you shopping today to buy you a proper gown. If you show up dressed funny, others will laugh at us.”
Christine felt embarrassed as long as she recalled Sephora showing up at Xavier’s birthday party in a down jacket yesterday.
The Austin family was a top–tier family, and yesterday’s guests must have been either rich or noble. Sephora actually showed up there in a down jacket?
Sephora was a bit irritated by Christine’s words, but she marked her emotion perfectly and didn’t voice any objections.
On the contrary, Bridgette didn’t want to be left out.
“Mom, can I come with you?”
“We’ll be back after buying a gown. Why do you wanna come with
us?”

“Mom, I can offer advice to help Sephora pick the most suitable gown for her. Don’t you think?”
Christine thought about it and agreed with Bridgette.
Christine thought, “I’m getting old and don’t know what young people are into these days. Plus, since Sephie grew up in a small town, I doubt if she has any taste.
“Bridie, on the contrary, has a sharp eye for style and always knows. what’s trending with young people.”
She said to Bridgette, “Then go back to your room to change after breakfast. We’ll go out soon.”
Bridgette was thrilled. Of course, she didn’t insist on tagging along to help find a gown for Sephora. In fact, she’d be more than happy to see Sephora make a fool of herself.
She wanted to tag along because she wanted a gown for herself. Though she had a lot already, she always wanted more.
She hastily finished breakfast and went back to her room quickly to get changed.
Christine frowned as she saw Bridgette gulping down the food, but she didn’t say anything.
After getting ready, Christine, Sephora, and Bridgette left the door.
The Levine family’s driver had been waiting at the entrance. They got into the car and headed to Frostford’s most luxurious shopping street.
