Chapter 23 Getting Her Out of Trouble
The bartender still wanted to talk Sephora out of the pub. But a sleazy- sounding man interrupted him.
“Hi. You want to drink? I can buy you one and keep you company.”
Sephora looked up at the man who was approaching. He had blond hair, and there was a scar on his greasy face.
As he scanned her from head to toe, Sephora felt sick. She couldn’t help but frown.
Although Sephora had had a lot of alcohol and felt drowsy, her head. was still clear.
“Back… Back off.”
Sephora’s voice had softened under the influence of alcohol. It didn’t scare the man off. Instead, he grew even more interested in her.
The man didn’t go away after hearing Sephora’s refusal. And he sat down next to her.
In fact, he had been watching Sephora for a while. Most of the women in the pub were dressed provocatively. She was different. She was young and innocent–looking. The man thought she might be easy to fool.
“Wow. You’ve got a temper. I like it.”
The man put his hand on Sephora’s leg as he spoke. She immediately

understood what he was implying.
“Get… Get your hand off me!” Sephora glanced at his hand coldly and said in annoyance.
The man laughed, “What if I don’t? What would you do to me?”
After hearing that, Sephora removed his hand from her leg. Then she slapped him without hesitation.
“You bitch! How dare you slap me! I offered to buy you a drink. Is this how to react to kindness?”
At first, the man was stunned by the sudden slap. Once he recovered from the shock, he began cursing at Sephora.
Before he could finish, Sephora slapped him again. It sent the man into a rage, and he raised his hand high to strike her.
The alcohol had slowed Sephora down, but she could still handle the man’s attack.
The noise from their fight quickly caught the attention of the people around. Lowell and Maxwell, sitting in the corner, also noticed.
“Lowe, is that Sephora?”
Lowell wasn’t interested in the fight at first. But what Maxwell said drew his attention.
Lowell followed Maxwell’s direction and saw Sephora. She was struggling with a greasy–looking man, staggering, her face blushing.
Sephora looked drunk, but the man still wasn’t a match for her. Lowell curled his lips unconsciously as he watched.

More and more people gathered to watch the fight. Since he couldn’t defeat a young woman, the man felt his pride hurt. He quickly called for his friends to help.
So, Sephora was then surrounded by five creepy men. It would’ve been easy for her to take all of them down.
But Sephora had drunk two cocktails. She was now slow to think and
move.
These men were local thugs. And the one who had called his friends. over was Miguel Parker, the blond–haired man. His father was the vice mayor of the city.
Because of his background, the onlookers just watched and didn’t dare to interfere. They were afraid of getting into trouble.
As for Lowell, he had been watching, too. Because Miguel was obviously not a match for Sephora.
But after Miguel called in help, Lowell couldn’t help but frown. Then he walked in Sephora’s direction.
Maxwell, who had been looking on for entertainment, followed him.
Lowell’s imposing presence was so overwhelming that people instinctively stepped aside, clearing a path. He and Maxwell reached Sephora with ease.
“Fuck off. It’s none of your business.”
Miguel warned Lowell and Maxwell as soon as they got close.
“What if I insist on interfering with this?” Lowell shot a cold glance at
him.

Miguel instantly felt a chill down his spine because that look was terrifying.
“I’ve warned you,” said Miguel, trying hard to stay calm. Then he raised his fist to strike Lowell.
But before the fist landed, Miguel’s arm was twisted behind his back. by Lowell. His screams then echoed through the pub.
“You… You actually hurt me. Do you know who my dad is?”
Miguel was in a sorry state, but he was still trying to scare Lowell.
“No.” Lowell replied in his usual indifferent tone.
“My dad is the vice mayor!”
“What does that have to do with me?” Lowell asked, applying more pressure. Then, with a loud crack, Miguel’s arm snapped.
Miguel’s friends were all stunned by Lowell’s ruthlessness. They stood frozen, looking at each other in dismay. None of them dared to help Miguel.
At this moment, the pub’s manager appeared. He looked at Miguel, who was lying on the ground, screaming in pain. Lowell was standing beside him, his face stern.
The manager’s legs couldn’t help but tremble. The onlookers might not recognize Lowell, but he did. Because the Austin family was the owner of this pub.
“Mr. Mr. Austin,” the manager greeted Lowell, his voice trembling.
Hearing that, people realized Lowell’s identity. The Austin family was

well–known in this city.
The onlookers now knew that Miguel was in big trouble. He had offended a tycoon. Hearing “Mr. Austin“, Miguel got up despite the pain and began apologizing to Lowell.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Austin. I didn’t recognize you. I shouldn’t have laid hands on your woman. Please forgive me. Please…” Miguel’s previous arrogance had completely vanished.
Lowell found him disgusting and didn’t respond. Instead, he turned to Maxwell. “I’ll leave the rest for you to handle.”
Then Lowell picked Sephora up and left.
At this moment, Sephora’s mind was completely hazy. She didn’t struggle at all as Lowell held her in his arms.
Sephora just felt that she was in a warm and safe embrace. As her head grew heavier, she snuggled deeper into Lowell’s arms.
