Chapter 12 His Grip
Charlotte found them too intimate and wanted to pull away, but Malcolm inserted his tongue even further.
Gripping his shirt, she wanted to push him away, but he instead grabbed her hand on his shirt and slid his fingers down her knuckles before locking dominantly through hers.
He then let go of her and said next to her lips while panting, “Can I?”
Charlotte didn’t say anything.
He put her resisting hand away from his shirt. Only then did her body.
relax a little.
In the next second, he kissed her lips again, and she was forced to open her mouth under his force.
Sensing the tip of his tongue, she couldn’t help but feel they were way too intimate. Panic set in as she frantically tried to grab something, but then he grasped her hand again. This time, it wasn’t a dominant grip anymore. Instead, their fingers intertwined completely.
The sense of suffocation made Charlotte flustered. She didn’t know what to do, but after their fingers were tightly woven, she seemed to find an anchor. She obediently let him kiss her, and their lips rubbed against each other.
The kiss lasted almost twenty minutes.
Shortly after that, the driver and Dawson got back into the car. They

sat in their seats, looking calm.
Charlotte remained silent, but the awkwardness and uneasiness on her face were palpable. Luckily, the two in the front row were sensible enough not to turn around, and of course, they didn’t see the look on her face. All they felt was that the car was exceptionally quiet. Throughout this whole time, Malcolm didn’t say a word, and he was as expressionless as ever.
Then the driver asked, “Mr. Bautista, where should we take Ms. Townsend now?”
It was the afternoon, and Charlotte was supposed to go back to campus. But now, she was in Malcolm’s car. She said nothing while keeping her head lowered.
Malcolm asked her, “Are you going back to school?”
His voice was both gentle and a bit hoarse..
“I…” Charlotte murmured, not looking at him.
Before she could continue, he offered, “A farmland is pending approval. We can take a look there.“.
The driver was surprised to hear him say that. The Bautista family had already bought the land, and they hadn’t used it yet. Right now, it was leased to local farmers from nearby who raised small livestock.
Malcolm asked Charlotte again, “Do you wanna go there?”
She was still hesitant.
This time, he didn’t wait for her response. He instructed the driver, “Go to the farmland. Consider this a working trip.”

Chapter
Charlotte knew the last sentence he said was meant for her. She clenched her fingers and still said nothing.
Soon, they reached the farmland. It was the afternoon, and animals. were running around happily on the fields. Charlotte saw horses, lambs, and cows.
Under the warm sunlight, they all looked so leisurely.
Walking next to Malcolm, she gazed at everything here. Soon, her gaze fell upon a small calf. Given its size, she figured it had just been born. It was bleating briskly, looking adorable.
Sensing her interest in the calf, Malcolm stood next to her and asked, “Wanna go touch it?”
Charlotte didn’t dare to and shook her head immediately. “No.”
She still seemed a bit tense. Malcolm glanced at her but didn’t press on after her refusal.
Just then. Dawson walked over to him to hand him a file. It was the farmland’s map, which was nearly a meter wide.
Charlotte was surprised–he indeed was here for business.
Dawson said to him, “Changes can be made everywhere except for the protected woodland, which is in the north. But it’s already decided that Brenden will be in charge of the project.”
However, he said, “No.”
Dawson was baffled. In the next second, as he gazed at the map, pondering, he said in a low voice, “Let Humberto–the young man during lunch–be in charge of this project.”
“What?” Dawson was slack–jawed.
Meanwhile. Charlotte immediately looked up at him when hearing Humberto’s name.
Instead of explaining anything, he added, “We need a manager, right? Reach out to him.”
Everyone wanted to work at the Bautista Group, but it was almost impossible. Every employee there graduated from prestigious universities with excellent grades. But Humberto, a university student, became a manager there just like that.
