Chapter 5
I whispered, “Silas has always believed I leaked his company secrets, causing his investment to fail three years ago. I’d like your help finding out who really sold the information.”
As the medical team escorted me into the glass elevator headed for the rooftop helicopter, the auction downstairs had just ended, and it was time for the party.
Silas embraced Sienna and stepped onto the stage, making an announcement to everyone in the industry.
“I was blind for ten years, but now I’ve finally found true love. I want to propose to Sienna with everyone’s blessing.
“Sienna, will you marry me and be my wife?”
With teary eyes, Sienna threw herself into his arms.
As the crowd erupted in cheers, Silas kissed her with smug
satisfaction.
The elevator slowly rose to the rooftop. Outside the glass, the glittering world below faded, replaced by open blue skies.
Through the glass in that final moment, it felt like Silas and I locked
eyes.
I slowly turned away.
“Goodbye, Silas.”

“Hubby,” Sienna said sweetly, “what are you looking at?”
“Nothing, Thalia-” Sienna’s expression changed instantly, and only then did he realize he’d said the wrong name out of habit.
Rubbing his brow, he tried to soothe her. “I’m just not used to someone else calling me ‘hubby‘ yet.”
Seeing she was about to cry again, Silas suppressed his irritation and gently said, “Don’t cry. If you keep this up, what if our baby ends up being a little crybaby just like you?”
Sienna broke into a smile. “Then you’ll have to buy me a yacht and name it after me. Only then will I forgive you.”

Thalia had been chased by countless rich suitors, and Carlos had spoiled her all her life.
Yet she never once asked him for anything.
She would never be like Sienna, asking for a yacht without hesitation.
Then it hit him, and he laughed at himself.
“I was really a fool.”
As if trying to make it up to Sienna, or maybe just to forget Thalia, he threw everything aside and went on a lavish honeymoon with Sienna, sparing no expense.
For a whole month, their names dominated the trending topics on social media.

“Wife–obsessed Silas splurges again–buys out child care company for his beloved wife.”
“Silas prays for his wife’s safety, bowed step by step before a priest for blessings.”
“Silas personally designs his child’s entire wardrobe from childhood to adulthood. What a lucky baby!”
When the madness ended, he dropped Sienna off at the luxury seaside villa he’d prepared in advance for her postpartum recovery.
When he returned home alone and opened the door to an empty, silent house, he frowned and instinctively called out, “Babe, why are you-”
His voice caught in his throat. He shut his mouth, jaw tight, and headed upstairs to grab his documents.
But the moment he opened the door, he found the master bedroom had been turned into a nursery.
Furious and anxious, he called the housekeeper back.
“Who told you to touch the master bedroom? Where are her things?”
“Her… Which ‘her“?” the housekeeper asked nervously. “This setup was done under Mrs. Scott’s orders.”
“I meant Thalia! Thalia!” he roared. “Where are Thalia’s things?”
“Ms. Sullivan said you were about to marry her, and the old stuff was an eyesore. She told us to throw it all out. It’s already been taken to the dump and burned.”
It was like a bucket of cold water had been dumped over him. Silas’s

eyes flickered with a rare hint of confusion.
“Mr. Scott?”
“It’s okay. You can go,” he said after a pause. But then he couldn’t help but ask, “Where is she? Thalia? Where did she go?”
“Ever since you kicked her out, she’s never come back.”
His lips pressed into a line. “That shameless woman…probably got hooked on sleeping around and forgot she even had a home.”
But as he pulled out his phone, it suddenly hit him that he had no idea who had taken Thalia away.
A wave of panic and helplessness tightened around his throat.
He started calling everyone who had gone to the auction that day like a madman, desperately trying to track her down.
Cigarette after cigarette burned, but no one knew where Thalia had
gone.
His grip on the phone tightened, knuckles white, his face growing paler by the second.
He said on the phone, “Find out where Carlos is-”
Suddenly, a loud voice from outside the door interrupted.
“Mr. Scott! It’s Mrs…”
Silas dropped his phone and rushed outside.
“Thalia, where the hell have you gone? Do you―”

But the tall, slender figure he had expected to see wasn’t there. His words caught in his throat.
The housekeeper froze, then handed him an express delivery.
“This is something she sent for you. The person said you must open it yourself.”
Silas furrowed his brow. “And Thalia? Didn’t the person say where she went?”
The housekeeper shook her head and left.
Silas tore open the package, but for some reason, the more he opened it, the more panicked he became.
He had the feeling that once this package was fully opened, he’d lose He had the feeling that once Thalia for good.

He forced out a laugh, brushing it off with a nonchalant tone. “What’s this? Does she think just because she sent me a gift, I’ll go crawling back to her?
“Ridiculous. Who does she think she is? I’m not that fool I used to be, the one who’d give up everything just to make her smile.”
His words stuck in his throat as he stared blankly at the stack of documents in his hands, his pupils unfocused.
The paper was written, “Year 2010, first child, paternity test: 99%…”
“Impossible…” He stared at it, his mind racing. “Isn’t this Carlos’s child?”
Trembling, he flipped through the pages. Each child’s paternity test

result was…his biological children.
“Thalia, do you think you can fool me with some fake document?”
He almost laughed, or perhaps it was more like he was on the verge of tears. He flipped to the next page. It was an investigation report detailing how Sienna had used her position to steal and sell company
secrets.
It included chat logs with rival companies, transfer records, and even screenshots of their meetings caught on security footage.
The last page was a notice from the Netherlands.

“Due to Mr. Silas’s actions of harming and betraying his wife during the marriage, we declare the marriage invalid.”
The papers fell all over the floor.
Silas almost stumbled, and it took him a while before he chuckled bitterly.
The corners of his eyes reddened as tears welled up. “Thalia, this is my retribution, isn’t it?”
It felt as if he could hear the sound of his own heart breaking.
The phone rang, and on the other end, Sienna’s sweet voice came through, “Hubby, I miss you so much. Can you come and keep me company?”
“I want our baby to be born with an Hermes bag. The boutique just released a new red crocodile leather model. Can you buy it for our baby?”

Silas said slowly, “Okay, wait for me obediently.”
Sienna continued posting lavish photos of the villa on social media.
When she heard the door open, her instinct was to throw herself into his arms, but instead, she was harshly shoved to the ground.
“Argh!” She clutched her stomach, crying out in pain. “Hubby, what are you doing?”
